When we live by His Spirit, He perfects us! I don’t reckon we even consider what we are doing while Holy Spirit is leading, except we know the joy of serving despite suffering, or the dependence we have in Him for the power to overcome sin when it intrudes, or attempts to, too frequently for us to neglect the forgiveness revealed and the Hope of God’s salvation of His sons, us, being brought to glory.

Amen bro.
When we walk in the Spirit we are not self-conscious of our “goodness” or righteousness, or of our works or success, attainment or whatever, bcos we are preeminently conscious of Jesus.
Yet, the Holy Spirit brings the Word of God (Scriptures) to our remembrance, and to our mental faculties, as and when He deems we need it, and when He does this, He presents us with choices, in a very intelligent way.
We are borne along by the power of the Holy Spirit, yet our minds are also engaged intelligently and critically.
We are living in a time when the last statement i made would be generally considered a foreign concept.
