U.S. aircraft carrier enters Gulf without incident
And…
But why would Netanyahu cancel the joint military exercises with the US?
He must have discovered something that has proved to be a very serious threat to the existence of Israel in the coming days. Maybe, just maybe, he has taken another look at the advanced radar system the US has placed in Israel with the stipulation that it must only be operated by US personal (military) and that Israelis cannot be in control of that radar system at any time?
The “Great Deceiver” (Obama) said that the radar system was there to protect Israel against incoming missiles. That certainly sounded like something that all Israelis would appreciate very much. But suddenly – maybe, just maybe, Netanyahu looked at the other side of that coin. With that US advanced Radar System in place in Israel, under the control of the US, it has now become impossible for Israel to launch an attack on Iran or anyone else without the co-operation of the US military who control that radar system.

Jeremiah 51 primarily addresses the Babylonian empire of the day. Revelation 17 & 18 is foreshadowed there in Jeremiah 51. America may be foreshadowed there, as the destruction of Babylon in Rev 18 looks a lot like America.
Revelation 18 has nothing to do with ancient Babylon, as it had been destroyed many centuries prior. Yet, so much of the imagery from Jeremiah 51 crops up again in Revelation 17 & 18, forming a connection between the two.
Also, the Babylon mentioned in Revelation 17 & 18 cannot be specifically the ancient Roman Empire of John’s day, as history records that the fall of the Roman Empire was a gradual decline. whereas, the Babylon referred to here is destroyed “in one hour” and “by fire”.
Also, it is destroyed by the Beast. Ancient Rome was not destroyed by the Beast.

As Christians, anytime we express our anger over the evil we see or hear about (regardless of who is perpetrating it) it’s nearly always perceived as an expression of hatred toward the person doing it, or, hatred of the religion or group which they belong to.
And THAT is one of many inequities of this fallen world we have to bear with, as Christians.
It reveals a basic ignorance of God: Ignorance of the fact that He is angry with sinners (His wrath remains on them), while at the same time loving them, and desiring they repent and be saved.
(MANY Christians cant come to terms with this most basic fact)
It means that God can be angry with a person, and yet not hate them, but rather love them.
Anger does not equal hate.
God is angry with sinners, but He does not hate sinners.
God never changes. He never stopped loving the human race at any time. When He destroyed the human race in the flood, He was still the same unchanging God, of whom John said, God is love. He never changes. When He consigns the majority of the human race to the eternal fire, in His righteous anger, He is still, God is love. His anger does not change His love.
(Anger does not need to cancel out love, yet it can and will if it is merely unchecked human anger, an expression of the flesh.)
This is the nature of God, so it also should be our nature.

On the role of civil authority
Our perspective or view of any issue seems to change when we are up close to the action, as compared to being distant or detached from it.
If it is closer to home we see it differently than when we see it on TV, on the other side of the world.
The role of secular authorities, police and the military, takes on a different perspective when our own safety is threatened.
I know, this is not the issue of whether God is on the side of America, but if our own family faced slaughter – it was a little closer to home, even on our doorstep, then we may pray for God to help the military defend our loved ones.

My comments continued:
I certainly agree with you, brother, on the main point, that God is not on America’s or the Republican’s side, or that the US military is the righteous defender of justice in the world, etc…
I think that many of the powerful Republicans have a false Christianity, and the Democrats, even worse.
How does the media in America report on Islamic matters? Very lightly. Very politically correct. Afraid to tell the truth. A white-washed version. Under-reported.
I think even the right wing in America have a certain fear of telling the truth about the evil committed by Muslims.
It doesn’t matter how “respectable” a Muslim community is, if anyone tries to leave that religion their life is in danger. It violates the most basic of human rights, the right to live free from the threat of violence, and the right to freedom of thought and free speech.
Let me clarify my point on the issue of whether or not God is on the side of the US Army : If Chinese tanks were rumbling down your street and they were killing everyone in their path, you would certainly, at that time, want God to be on the side of the US Army.
