Faithful to Jesus

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:2

What is the full dimension of the stewardship we have received from Jesus, of which we are required to be found faithful in?

Faithfulness to Jesus means to be faithful to Him in everything concerning our life and ministry, in every aspect, in every detail, in every part – in the hidden, private things, and in public – that in ANY aspect of our life, the Father looks down and declares, Faithful! :

To be in no part unfaithful to Him.

Any issue you can think of, in the Christian life, or in the Church, or in doctrine, in character, boils down to the issue of faithfulness to Jesus Christ.

    Faith and Faithfulness

The man or woman of faith is one who has been faithful to Jesus.

Faithfulness is a beautiful word bcos it reveals that faith has to do with whether one submits to, honors, loves, keeps the word of, and does the will of the LORD Jesus Christ.

It personalizes faith, rather than faith being an impersonal force or power.

Faithfulness, and therefore faith, is the quality of a relationship between two persons.

Within the marriage covenant, we can fairly easily understand the concept of faithfulness to one another. This is a pointer to what faith in Jesus Christ is.

How can a person who is unfaithful to Jesus have any faith? (Like in the Word of Faith movement)

    Faithful to Jesus

    Revelation chapters 2 and 3.

    We read here:

Our LORD Jesus judges whether we have been faithful to Him.

He knows who is faithful to Him, and who is not.

These two chapters, in particular, highlight to us the nature of true Christianity : it is about what Jesus says, and judges, concerning everything. The Church should only listen to His judgment, and be concerned only with being faithful to Him. It is about being faithful to Him, in the midst of an unfaithful world.

Let Jesus’ faithfulness to you inspire you

to be faithful to Him. May we learn to be faithful to Him by acknowledging His faithfulness to us. His faithfulness to us should teach us and define to us how we should be faithful to Him.

What do you have that you did not receive?

Gratitude for our salvation must find expression in our preaching this great salvation.

    Faithful to Him

Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus Christ, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. (Heb 3:1-2)

We are asked to consider Jesus’ faithfulness to His Father. Why consider this? Bcos we are called to be faithful to Him, in the same way.

Consider the nature of Jesus’ faithfulness, and we see what the Christian life should be; we see what faith really is.

    Good and faithful servant

His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter into the joy of your lord. Matthew 25:23

It is our business to be faithful over the few things He has given us to be faithful with. No matter how badly the world falls apart in the last days, and no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in, we are still to be His good and faithful servants.

As we recount Jesus faithfulness to us over the years, we should be all the more resolved to continue to be faithful to Him.

    A good and faithful servant

attends to the things that he knows his Master wants and desires, and has called for. His life is determined and fashioned by the interests of his Master, and no one else. He will always reference himself to the Master and His will. He won’t think in terms, personally, separate from the Master (2 Timothy 2:3-4).

In 2011, may we all have the same attitude that was in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5-8).
