We beheld His glory

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

What did you see, John? I saw His glory! The glory of the only begotten of the Father! When I saw Him I saw grace and truth married together.

There is THIS glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, and there are other glories: the glory of man, and the glory of this world, the glory of angels and fallen angels. The glory of Babylon the Great (Rev 17-18).

Do you see the same glory in this same Person whom John saw? If so, your life, your gospel, your character, your Church, will be like John’s.

But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the LORD, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD. 2 Corinthians 3:18

If we continue to see the glory of Jesus then we become like Him.

When John saw Jesus he didn’t see a way for his own personal gain and advantage. He didn’t see money. He didn’t see power, success, popularity and fame. He saw the glory of the only begotten of the Father, the glory of the Word become flesh.

So, then, John, was a partaker of that glory he saw. His life became conformed to that glory, and no other glory. John didn’t become conformed to the world. He lost all interest in money, power, success, fashions, materialism and wealth. His interest became to know this only begotten of the Father and to make Him known.

It’s bcos he beheld His glory. John’s eyes were opened to see who Jesus is.

And that is the only hope for lukewarm, worldly Christianity : that they would behold His glory, and realize that they have the WRONG glory : a glory which is not His glory, the temporary glory of this world, and not the eternal glory of Jesus, the Son of God.

Nice point. It’s because many have no idea what ‘glory’ is that they are being deceived by the DAMAGENT church’s fuzzy concept of it!

You tell us what the true glory is, and what is false glory, and how to tell the difference. The pulpit is yours. : )
