LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON

You no longer serve the law as a servant, you serve the Father as a son. Like Father, like son.

This means what you are now is defined by your relation to the Father. He has made you a son by sending the Spirit of His Son into you. Like Father, like son.

His Spirit in you cries out Abba Father! and so you know you are a son. Your worth is now based on His Fatherhood.

    LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON

Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Therefore you are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. But then, when you knew not God, you did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after you have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn you again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? You observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid for you, lest I have bestowed upon you labor in vain.
    (Galatians 4:3-11)

You no longer serve the law as a servant, you serve the Father as a son. Like Father, like son.

This means what you are now is defined by your relation to the Father. He has made you a son by sending the Spirit of His Son into you. Like Father, like son.

His Spirit in you cries out Abba Father! and so you know you are a son. Your worth is now based on His Fatherhood.

Now, you live by the fact that God is your Father. You live by that fact alone, you don’t live by the law. Like Father, like son.

For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

    (Galatians 2:19-20)

The fact is that God the Father is the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, and you died and your life is hid with Christ in God:

If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience: In which you also once walked, when you lived in them. But now you also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy talk out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, that is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
    (Colossians 3:1-10)

That is you do what your Father does. It’s no longer the law, tradition or culture or anything else you serve, but the Father alone. Like Father, like son.

You are no longer one of the children of disobedience. You are no longer a child of the devil. You are no longer one of the children of the law. You are not the offspring of religion, you have been fathered by God Himself.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name: Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
    (John 1:12-13)

When the devil was your father you did as he did (John 8:44). Now God is your Father you do as He does, and love what He loves and hate what He hates. Like Father, like son.

You see your Father. You do as He does. If He doesn’t lie, then you don’t lie. If He is pure then you are pure. If He is forgiving then you are forgiving. If He loves then you love. Like Father, like son.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who despitefully use you, and persecute you; THAT YOU MAY BE THE CHILDREN OF YOUR FATHER who is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
    (Mat 5:44-45)

Be you therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.
    (Mat 5:48)

    Like Father, like son.

THAT YOU MAY BE THE CHILDREN OF YOUR FATHER who is in heaven

To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness unto all men. For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
    (Titus 3:2-3)
