Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Psalm 33:18-19
Great famines are coming, according to the Word of God. The LORD has promised to keep those who fear Him alive in a time of famine. This is the true prosperity of the Righteous, who seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness.
This is an encouraging Psalm (please read it all if you will). It declares the Sovereign Authority of the LORD Jesus over all that happens down here on the planet, and declares His people as being directly under His Government and not victims of any worldly government or authority. Those who fear God are no longer victims of this world and no longer live in fear of the things which will happen to the world, or neither do they fear the threatenings of the world.
The holy fear of God removes all other fears – the fear of God is mutually exclusive to all other fear.

On the other side, Ian, is Amos 8:11-12 which I think is happening with many believers turning to ear ticklers in the pulpit as a result of the flesh and disobedience.
