i. False Prophet Warnings

( Note: This is just a case in point, to show certain principles and modus operandi which pertain to all false prophets. It doesn’t mean David Terrell is any worse than others, and it is not my intention to single him out, it’s just a case study)

Here is the account of one of Terrell’s stepdaughters:

Holy Ghost Girl: A Memoir
by Donna Johnson

Donna Johnson’s remarkable story of being raised under the biggest gospel tent in the world, by David Terrell, one of the most famous evangelical ministers of the 1960s and 70s. Holy Ghost Girl is a compassionate, humorous exploration of faith, betrayal, and coming of age on the sawdust trail.

She was just three years old when her mother signed on as the organist of tent revivalist David Terrell, and before long, Donna Johnson was part of the hugely popular evangelical preacher’s inner circle. At seventeen, she left the ministry for good, with a trove of stranger- than-fiction memories. A homecoming like no other, Holy Ghost Girl brings to life miracles, exorcisms, and faceoffs with the Ku Klux Klan. And that’s just what went on under the tent.

As Terrell became known worldwide during the 1960s and ’70s, the caravan of broken-down cars and trucks that made up his ministry evolved into fleets of Mercedes and airplanes.

The glories of the Word mixed with betrayals of the flesh and Donna’s mother bore Terrell’s children in one of the several secret households he maintained.

Thousands of followers, dubbed “Terrellites” by the press, left their homes to await the end of the world in cultlike communities. Jesus didn’t show, but the IRS did, and the prophet/healer went to prison.

Recounted with deadpan observations and surreal detail, Holy Ghost Girl bypasses easy judgment to articulate a rich world in which the mystery of faith and human frailty share a surprising and humorous coexistence.

It was in the 1970’s that Brother Terrell hit his stride. He became so popular that he was said to have the largest revival tent, encompassing an area of 11/2 to 2 football fields and could hold up to about 5,000 people. Money was no longer a problem. It was during this time that he had several relationships with other women, including Donna’s mother. He started to acquire land and other personal items that included several luxury cars and a jet plane. He would often bring home bags of coins collected at the revivals and have Carolyn and Donna go through the coins looking for coins of value. They had several trash cans full of coins.

This all came to an end when the IRS caught up with Brother Terrell and word got out about his relationships with other women and his illegitimate children.

Terrell spent several years in prison and when he was released went back on the revivalist circuit. He never obtained the prominence he once had; the crowds instead of being in the thousands were now in the hundreds.

There was a sharp dichotomy between what Brother Terrell preached and the things he did, and Donna saw it all. All his fasting and healing didn’t erase the fact that he was stealing money from those who needed it most and conducting many adulterous affairs that produced several offspring.

This is a warning concerning David Terrell, found here:

http://www.watchmanscry.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1801&page=3

My family followed David Terrell for many years. As far back as the 1960′s some of my best friends were close acquaintances of David Terrell. My family and I continued to follow him for a long time – nearly 40 years. But as we witnessed one failed prophecy after another, not just minor ones but many major ones, and as we witnessed his teachings becoming more and more inconsistent with the Bible, we could no longer follow his unscriptural teachings.

My experience with David Terrell was typical of what many of my family and friends experienced with “the man of God”. I had gone through many difficult times in my life, and had felt betrayed by some of the closest people around me. I had felt, at times, that even God had let me down. I was raised as a Christian by many peoples’ standards. But I soon turned to the world after going through so many hardships and let-downs. This is when I was told by friends that I needed to go see “the preacher” who was supposed to be different from all the rest. I was reassured by friends that the Lord “visited” him and gave him the “revelation” of Jesus Christ. I soon had an opportunity to attend one of his tent revivals. I went and was persuaded to go through his “prayer line”, where the atmosphere was quite emotional. I remember that an emotional feeling came over me that caused me to feel that this must be of God. I felt “love”. I felt like I was on “cloud nine”.

Only a few weeks prior to my first experience at Terrell’s tent revival, I had repented of my sins and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and started reading the Holy Bible every day. When I repented and forsook my sins and placed my total trust in the finished sacrifice of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross for my sins, the Lord saved me by grace through faith, not by works of righteousness which I have done, but according to his mercy he saved me, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost (Eph. 2:8,9; Titus 3:5). Certain family and friends, however, told me that I needed more to “be saved”, that I needed a “personal experience” with God, and that I really needed to go see this “true prophet.” So off I went. Although I had only a limited knowledge of the scriptures, and some of the things that I witnessed under the tent that night seamed to agree with what I was reading in the Bible, other things that I witnessed under the tent that night absolutely did not agree with what I was reading in the Bible. Nevertheless, being reassured by close friends and family, who were there with me that night, that this was God’s work, I thought, “OK, surely something that feels this good must be of God.” (2 Cor. 11:14,15; Jer. 17:9; Prov. 16:25; 28:26)

As I continued to follow the Lord and read the Bible daily, God increased my knowledge of the scriptures and showed me that the New Testament is the completed revelation of Jesus Christ. And as I continued to follow David Terrell, I began to see more and more of the things that he was teaching being contradictory to the Bible. He began to teach that God had more words to reveal to his people than what was recorded in the Bible. He began to teach that the Bible had numerous mistakes in it. His repeated claims of visitations and revelations gave both he and his followers an exalted view of himself, and he began to lord over God’s heritage. He demanded more and more obedience and honor and fear from his followers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxy6admT5ZY). He would make dozens, sometimes hundreds, of prophecies a week – most of which would fail to come to pass.

The more I read the scriptures, the more I began to cry out to God. For something was seriously amiss. I prayed, “Lord, something is terribly wrong with either the Bible or the prophet.” As I continued to faithfully read my Bible and to grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Lord opened my understanding that I might understand the scriptures. I seen more and more scriptures testifying to the preservation of God’s words, where God himself promised to preserve every one of his pure words (Psa. 12:6,7; Prov. 30:5,6). I began to see more and more contradictions, not in the Bible, but in the “prophet”. I had to humble my heart and come to the sobering realization that the emotional feelings that I had experienced under the tent that night were no different than the emotional feelings experienced by the Muslim or Hare Krishna convert. The Lord’s love and mercy is not just about emotions and good feelings, it is about understanding and reasoning, as the Lord said, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 1:18) (http://wordofgod.0catch.com/goodfeelings.html). I had to humble my heart and admit that I was just as vulnerable as anyone else when it comes to being deceived.

My only reason for writing these comments is to warn people to know the scriptures and to beware and take heed that no man deceive you, because as our Lord said, “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many…. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” (Matt. 24:5,24)

When Jesus said, “It is written,” “it is written,” and “It is written again,” (Matt. 4:4,6,7), these are the words that Jesus said shall not pass away. “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Matt. 24:35). It is the written word that will judge every person who rejects it or who places man’s word above it. God’s “engrafted word” (engrafted means written)(James 1:21), “the same shall judge him in the last day.” (John 12:48).

When Terrell says that you owe him “fear to whom fear is due” because his mouth is the “mouthpiece of God”, Terrell is putting his own words equal to or above the scriptures. Terrell does not believe that God’s words are pure and that God preserved them forever, so he teaches people that they must put their trust in his own words, Terrell’s words, in order to “know God’s will”. But be assured and forewarned that Jesus’ spoken words, the scriptures written in the Holy Bible, will judge Terrell and all who place it second to any man’s word – “the same shall judge him in the last day.” (John 12:48).

The scriptures plainly show that “when a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass,” that he is not entitled to honor and we are not to fear that prophet any longer – “that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken… thou shalt not be afraid of him.” (Deut. 18:21,22)

Terrell prophesied back in the 1970′s that Richard Nixon would commit suicide over the Watergate scandal. It didn’t come to pass.
Terrell prophesied right after Pope John Paul I died in 1978 that Pope John Paul II would die in less than a year from taking office. It didn’t come to pass.
Terrell prophesied back in the 1970′s that America would suffer nuclear war and be invaded within the next 20 years. It didn’t come to pass.
Terrell prophesied back in the 1990′s that the planet Mars would have explosions or explode before the year 2000. It didn’t come to pass.

Many more of Terrell’s prophecies, too numerous to list, have failed. “THOU SHALT NOT BE AFRAID OF HIM.” (Deut. 18:21,22)

The following information should be helpful to anyone seeking to know the truth about David Terrell:

Scroll down just a little ways after clicking the above link and you’ll see,
Bro. David H. Terrell a/k/a Daniel H. Ford was Convicted of tax fraud! and Bro. Barron who was pastor of Bro. Terrell’s Bangs church committed perjury at Terrell’s urging and was also Convicted!

Many God fearing men and women tried to warn people that Terrell was leading them down a slippery slope, but Terrell and those benefiting from his ministry blacklisted anyone who dared to speak out against him. Many people, including Bro. Barron, Bro. Hamby, and others who were intimately involved with Terrell and his ministry can corroborate these and other disturbing facts.

I pray that you will not take offense at anything I said today, and that you will humble your heart, as I did, and allow God to deliver you from “every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive” (Eph. 4:14); and repent and place your total faith and confidence in God’s revealed written word in the Holy Bible and in the finished sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Most sincerely, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and only Saviour!

I put this up bcos this person explains really well what transpires in a Christian, the inner tension and conflict, when they are being seduced by satan coming as an ‘angel of light’ thru a false prophet. They are being asked to submit to an unholy union : that is, the ‘marriage’ of a real ecstatic spiritual experience and a lie, or lies. That’s the clincher : Yes, it’s a lie, BUT i feel so much loooove! And he always mentions Jesus!

The Lord’s love and mercy is not just about emotions and good feelings, it is about understanding and reasoning, as the Lord said, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 1:18)

There are true ‘ecstatic’ experiences and false/counterfeit/demonic.

To be filled with the Holy Spirit, as per the NT accounts, is truly a supernatural experience. The gifts of the Spirit are supernatural gifts and not one of them has been withdrawn by the Holy Spirit.

The fruit? See what kind of fruit the folk in the NT account had. What type of people they were, what type of character, what kind of life and love they had.

Paul said that he spoke in tongues more than anyone, and he also sang in tongues, yet he wasn’t a fruitloop, he was in his right mind and he had self control.

  3. mkayla Says:

Ian, putting this up was a wise decision. No one should take offense when these liars are revealed. It should be counted as good and necessary. There are occasions in the NT where Paul did that very thing. Offense should be taken at these who twist the word of God, who use the name of the Lord for nothing but their own evil gain. The Lord knows who are His own and so should we.

    Blessings

Thanks for dropping by sister. I drop by your blog now and then.

Yeah, i thought this brother’s testimony of deliverance from being ‘under the influence’ of a false prophet beneficial as it’s so typical of how people are deceived and how they can be delivered.

For Jesus’ sheep, in a cultic situation, it reaches a point where they realize that their love and dependency on the leader has supplanted their relationship to Jesus as LORD, and then the truth sets them free, and they are free indeed, and free to leave.

I find this interesting, I have had my experience with David Terrell ministry and the endtime messenger. I’m the product of a child growing up in his ministry, now at 49 years old, my heart is hurting. It hurts because of the profound effect it has on my life, my family, and many of my friends (which were Terrell ministry children also). Tears are pouring down my face as I write this. I ask “Do they (ministers) know the damage they do. My family, my siblings, my friends are still being impacted. I could say more, but does it really matter. Everybody has their agenda, so who can you trust. All I know is I need your prayers, because the damage has definitely been done. I could write a book

Welcome to my blog. Could you be a little more specific as to how you were affected?

Whatever happened try and leave it behind and follow Jesus.

Jesus said that no man can take away the joy He gives.us. No man can take it away from us but we can forfeit it by not forgiving and forgetting.

    .

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

    (Php 3:13-14)

  8. a product of deceit Says:

I could be more specific, however I hesitate because it would disclose my family (and some of them continue to follow the ministry), which makes this difficult, Its divided my family.

But to sum it all up it was FEAR. Our lives were captured by FEAR, afraid to live. Perhaps if i could talk privately I would or could share more of my story, I just don’t want to hurt my family more.

  9. ian vincent Says:

    That’s clearer!

May i ask, fear of what?

    Do you still have fear?

  10. a product of deceit Says:

As a child all I heard was destruction and the endtimes, which we were supposely living in at that time. Sitting listen to hours of prohecy of such destruction and doom will soon take its hold on you mentally. For example, hearing negative things about the government, doctors, other ministries, and etc…I was programed not to trust anyone outside the ministry. So this meant many things were neglected, such as medical care.

I had my first child in my early twenties and I remember looking down at my child thinking my child has no chance of growing up because the end was soon to come. Basically I lived as if I had no future. I hope you understand that.

Please don’t take it wrong, I’ve overcame many of those fears, but it still hurts because some of my family has not. I hurt because some of my family is still being deprived of a life because they’re still caught up in it. “The Fear”

As I read the many articles and post that’s out there, about the character of David Terrell, my mind goes back to that period in time and what was being negatively said and I now understand there was an agenda behind those words, the prophecies, and the behavior. And not once was thought given to the damage that was being done to my life and lives of many others.

I now see the world through different eyes and I feel like I perhaps I could have accomplished much more if I didn’t have to battle the FEAR for so many years, who really knows. It will be a big iquestion n my mind. But I’m now at a point were I’ve started living and not just existing. Yes I’ve lost a lot of time but Thank God I’m still here…with beautiful grand children

    My friend,

What you’ve described about the bad influence of David Terrel on some Christians : this could never have happened if David Terrel was in fellowship with men of God of integrity and character, as part of a NT assembly.

This is part of the fall-out when men forsake the NT pattern and build a “ministry” with them as the pope. There never was such a thing allowed in the NT church.

For starters, all prophecy was to be tested on the spot by the assembly ( 1 Cor 14 ). People like Terrel cannot accept such Scriptures as these.

Thank you for allowing me to share, the steps I’ve taken with my life has allowed me to heal from many of the wounds, although the scars are still there, many of the blank spaces have been filled by some of the information given on your blog..

As I said previous I view the world with different eyes, I also view the religious arena in a different light. To say there’s a lack of character and integrity in that arena is an understatement.

I still believe God’s word, I believe that Jesus died upon the cross, I know Jesus is love and the true manifestation of him is LOVE. I don’t have to agree with doctrines of a religion to respect it. (we have wars going on because of religious differences)

But what I find most distrubing is we fight and agrue among the different religions (doctorines and teachings) and forget how simple salvation really is. I believe with the state of the world today the mere outpouring of the LOVE of Christ manifested to the world would be more effective than anything. But we just can’t get passed those hidden agenda.

I appreciate the opportunity, and with each day I’m healing. Please when you pray please remember me and those like me, we welcome your prayers. Be Blessed

I have a friend who I am trying to get out from under this cult. Any ideas or help would be great. They have taken all of his possessions while he was working at the ranch in TX.

    Thx!!

  15. ian vincent Says:

    Hi RB,

If a person is under the control of a cult it is bcos they do not know Jesus or know who He is. When a person knows who Jesus is and what He has done on the Cross, and the power of His Word to fulfill His promises, and has been filled with His Spirit, then they can NEVER follow a man.

Speak to him about Jesus, give Him the word, pray for him, bind the demonic powers working on him. Keep praying and don’t give up.

  16. ian vincent Says:

Anyone entrenched in the religious system may not even know the Biblical definition of “ministry” : that is, how “ministry” was lived out by the Apostles and Prophets and the early church.

To them, “ministry” was to lay down your life for the sheep : to eat with them, share all your possessions with them, a daily walk TOGETHER. Your house is open, all the time, to the saints. No appointments. No formalities. No airs and graces. No tiltles. Daily building one another up in the Word of truth…. praying together….. etc….

Usually, today, when “ministry” is mentioned it is not a Biblical ministry, as i have just defined.

If, just for example, someone like David Terrel had REAL fellowship with the Body of Christ, then no one would “stand in awe” of him : the “aura” would dissolve, and there would be no mystique or mythology swirling around his person : people would just consider him a brother, and not put him on a pedastal.

That would be their greatest fear, that people would find out they are just normal Christians and they be treated the same as other Christians. That would be such a death-blow to their ego and soul-life that would make them withdraw back into the religious system and the illusions and masks they are hiding behind.

    .
    .
    .
Take William Branham, for example: he gradually manufactured his own mythology and identity, aura and mystique, until, eventually, he ended up believing his own lie.

  17. ian vincent Says:

    Hi Dominick,

It is certainly a praiseworthy thing to fast out of the right motives.

But if we are disciples of Jesus then we should OBEY Him and not publicize our fasting:

Moreover when you fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; That you appear not unto men to fast, but unto your Father who is in secret: and your Father, who sees in secret, shall reward you openly.

    (Mat 6:16-18)

…unto your Father who is in secret: and your Father, who sees in secret, shall reward you openly.

SECRET FASTING HAS A GREAT REWARD FROM THE FATHER!

  18. David from TX Says:

You modern day christians make me sick.

Who cares if Ghostly is hiding his real name. Read his message. It doesn’t matter if a man speaks TRUTH, if he can be discredited, all that TRUTH he spoke is almost worthless. You pick at the things that don’t matter and fail to see the things that do matter. The fact that Ghostly pointed out that David & Moses as well as others were at fault yet God STILL used them.

David was God’s annointed and stold another man’s wife! Sounds to me if you lived in his day, you would have pointed out his faults too! Who is to say that DT did not get right with God today and is a holy man. Who is to say he is a fake. You are going to be more concerned about yourself on the day of judgement if you have accused him fasely. DT spends much time in fasting and prayer, constantly on the go. Such a man doesn’t have time for materialism and sin though I’m sure he has. I have sinned. I KNOW Vincent has sinned. As well as cheryl, mkayla and all the rest on here. Because the word says all have sinned.

Who are we to condemn a man who dedicates his life in preaching Jesus. I do not care much whether he is a prophet or not. I do care about his message. He is one of very few preachers that covers issues not many preachers can speak about. It sickens me that you’re so concerned of making this man an example instead of praying for him and going on your way. It’s like you feel like your duty is to point out faults and prove who is false. If DT is right with God and accepted into the kingdom of heaven. Then what!?

Salvation comes through Jesus Christ, not DT, me, or you. Preach the truth of Gods word and teach about holy living. Not a blog for descrediting people whether is true or not.

We hope David Terrell has repented and has been restored to the Lord.

Whether he has repented or not, we have established certain facts:

    a) He is not a prophet.

    b) He does not have the character prerequisite to being an elder (1 Tim 3).

What he should do, bcos he claimed to be a prophet and turned out not to be one, is publish a full list of all his failed prophecies, acknowledging that he was deceived, and also full disclosure about any criminal cases.

You compare David Terrell to King David, but the latter confessed his sin publicly, and he no longer continued in it.

So let David Terrell do the same.

Read 2 Samuel 12, how God sent the true prophet Nathan to David to expose his sin and get him to repent.

That is what a true prophet does.

But would you have persecuted Nathan and accused him of sin for exposing David’s sin?

  20. Merkava Says:

    1 Kings 21:9
And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:

    2 Chronicles 20:3
And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

    Ezra 8:21
Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

    Nehemiah 9:1
Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.

    Esther 4:16
Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

Open fasting has always been common and acceptable with God in relation to saving a nation or to turn God’s wrath from a people. John the Baptist was well known for his fasting. Prophets have always openly fasted concerning the Kingdoms of Judah and Israel.

I personally have been inspired to fast, knowing of the fasts of others, as I observed the beautiful spirit of humility and peace of the person fasting.

Jesus’ comment of fasting in secret was concerning the Pharisees who’s fasting intention was only for recognition, as these were the men that Jesus spoke of saying; they bind men with heavy burdens and wouldn’t lift the burden with one finger.

Brother David Terrell has openly fasted to turn God’s anger away giving God’s people more time to prepare themselves with oil in their lamps, and to put on the whole armor of God in order to stand in the evil day. I can assure you that Brother David Terrell’s fasts were for the right reasons. His fasting has yielded the fruit to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that every yoke be broken.

As concerning prophecies coming to pass, many of Daniel’s, Isaiah’s, Joel’s, Jeremiah’s, Malachi’s along with the other prophets have yet to be fulfilled. Should we call them false prophets?

It’s just like the man that was born blind who testified that Jesus was a prophet saying; “Whether he be a sinner or not I don’t know, but the one thing that I do know, is that I was blind and I can now see.

    Respectfully Merkava

Jesus’ comment of fasting in secret was concerning the Pharisees who’s fasting intention was only for recognition, as these were the men that Jesus spoke of saying; they bind men with heavy burdens and wouldn’t lift the burden with one finger.

So, was Jesus commanding only the Pharisees to fast in secret, and everyone else can feel free to tell everyone when they fast?

Was the command only for the Pharisees, and for no one else?

    Of course not!

That would be absurd, and THAT is what you are teaching, twisting the words of Jesus around to mean the opposite of what He said.

THAT is exactly the same thing Jesus accused the Pharisees of doing : of making excuses and loopholes to justify not keeping God’s commands.

    That’s what you’re doing.

Read Matthew 6 again. Jesus is not commanding the Pharisees, He is commanding His disciples. Yes?

So, what does He command His disciples? When you fast, do it in secret!

No one can justify advertising their fasts by saying they’re not looking for recognition, so it’s OK.

Like, ...I want everyone to know i’m fasting, but, i don’t say it to get honor from men, so it’s OK for me to reject Jesus command to fast in secret!
    .
    .
    .

If we are in close fellowship with other brethren then they will find out that we’re fasting without us advertising it, and they will be encouraged.

But if you’re going to use OT examples, then what would they have done with David Terrell back in the OT, after he made a number of failed prophecies? The kindest thing they would have done is listed him as a false prophet, but quite likely they would have killed him.

  22. ian vincent Says:

David Terrell has been posting here under the names, “Ghostly”, “David from TX”, “Merkava”, and now, the last one, which i didn’t approve, “Esther”.

[ Update: David Terrell just wrote to me as "David from TX", still pretending to be someone else, and he said that "Merkava" is not him, but a friend of his]

In his most recent comment he is saying that i am criticizing him for fasting.

Anyone can see that the issue was about publicizing your fasts, and not that it’s wrong to fast. Yes?

    He knows that.

So what can he do? If he admits he’s wrong, then he may lose financial support, so that would be out of the question.

So, he has to calculate a way to avoid answering the question.

So, he calculates a lie in order to avoid answering the question (In a court of law, that is called “Contempt of Court”. Before the Throne of God it is called, “Contempt for God”).

That’s why i won’t waste my time with such a dishonest person.

Only a fraud avoids the truth like that, and twists and turns to avoid an honest answer.

He also reveals that he is a Modalist. Every Modalist i have met is demonized, in real life. I’ve not yet met one who has peace in their heart they are saved.

They are usually hyper-pentecostal-legalists, extremely self-righteous, and secretly bound in all manner of secret, and not-so-secret sins, which they try to cover up with external, man-made righteousness – their religious of works.

And that is why they HAVE TO publicize their fastings, etc. They are driven to always prove to others how wonderful they are. Everything is an outward show.

Modalism is of the spirit of antichrist, which denies the eternal relationship between the Father and His Son (1 John 2:22).

TD Jakes is the most famous one of late. Totally given over to delusion.

Terrell, as “Esther”, also tries to prove how wonderful a man he is now, so now he does not need to apologize or publicly confess to the body of Christ for all his failed prophecies and dubious activities.

He expects everyone to ignore all that and just consider how wonderful he is, and how much God uses him.

This only appeals to spiritually blind, lost souls to follow him.

And there are plenty of lost souls out there who would be deceived by such a man.

Ok, what is preventing David Terrell from personally making a full disclosure and apology to the body of Christ for all the failed prophecies, and anything else he needs to confess?

Why can’t he do that? What’s stopping him?

Could it be that he knows that he has built a following, a financial base of supporters, by creating the false illusion and aura, about himself, creating and building his own mythology, that he is a great prophet, who is always right?

He has too much to lose by telling the truth?

David Terrell, aren’t you just repeating William Branham’s error? Do you also want to be taken out in God’s judgment?

David Terrell, i for one do pray for you, that grace will win the day, and that you will make a full admission and apology, and that you will be delivered, and be able to stand at the Judgment Seat of Christ and receive a Crown, and not shame and disgrace.

  23. ian vincent Says:

Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denies the Father AND the Son. 1 John 2:22

To deny the Father AND the Son (the spirit of antichrist) means to deny that they are eternally two distinct Persons in relation, yet one God, with the Person of the Holy Spirit, one God. It is to deny the eternal relationship between the Person of the Father and the Person of the Son. And that is the heresy of Modalism, or Sabaelianism, or “Oneness” – that is, that God changed, that He came in modes, an evolving god, like a person who has three masks and each time he appears it is the same person, only wearing a different mask. God is not like that.

One God in three Persons is most clearly PROVED at Jesus’ baptism, that in the Godhead there are three distinct Persons, co-eternal, co-existent, and co-equal : And that these three Persons were SIMULTANEOUSLY MANIFESTED (not in modes) : The Father spoke from Heaven, not the Son, and the Son went into the water, not the Father, and the Holy Spirit descended on the Son, not the Father – SIMPLE. Why confuse that?

The Father is not the Son, and the Son is not the Father, yet they are inseparable as one God by the Spirit.

(Btw, I don’t address God by the title of, The Holy Trinity, yet i’m a Trinitarian. The Bible uses the term, The Godhead. We should not think up extra-Biblical titles for God and then address Him by the man-made title, like Trinity. Yet, the doctrine, which has been labelled with the name Trinity, is true. Trinity describes the Triune nature of God, but it should never be used as an actual title of God, as has been done in traditional churches.)
    .
    .
    .

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the Man
    Christ Jesus…

    (1Tim 2:5)

Modalism denies this, that there is a Mediator between God and men,
and this Mediator is a Man. It flatly denies this present Mediator is a Man. They say He was a Man, before, when He was wearing that “mask”, in that particular mode, but now He is no longer a Man.

This Mediator is NOT the Father, and yet He and the Father are one.

This faithful High Priest is NOT the Father, yet He is one with the Father. A High Priest to whom? To His Father.

They are distinct in their Persons, and One in their Deity.

Modalism/Oneness denies the mediatorial role of The Son, now, by
denying the eternal relationship between the Persons of the Godhead.

Therefore it is a FALSE GOSPEL – “another gospel”.

    No Mediator? No gospel.

No Advocate with the Father? No gospel.

That is why it is from the spirit of antichrist, denying the Father AND the Son.

Such people ARE under a demonic delusion, it is a doctrine
    of demons.

They can be set free, and we pray, teach and work for that.

I have visited “oneness” churches and found them to be totally controlled by demonic powers. The darkness is palpable.
    .
    .
    .
IF God was manifested in concurrent MODES, then how do they explain the fact that Jesus the Man (physically and bodily, in the same flesh and bone body He lived in on earth and rose from the dead in, only now a glorified body) is going to leave the Father’s right hand and return to the earth to judge the World? The Father is not coming with Him. That’s two Persons, right there.

Modalists say that we will see only one Person on the Throne of God.

Then, what happens when Jesus, as a Man, leaves the Father’s right hand (for the second time) and returns to earth? Then, do you still see one Person? When Jesus leaves the Father’s right hand (again) to come to earth, will there be no Person seen sitting on the Throne of God in Heaven?

    One God in three Persons.

  24. ian vincent Says:

David, thanks for your latest comment (which i did not approve).

I’m sorry that your “Christianity” allows you to write to people, while pretending to be someone else. That is fraudulent. It’s a lie.

Even in trying to defend yourself you can’t avoid being fraudulent.

I will only allow you to comment here if you publish a full admission and apology to the body of Christ for all your failed prophecies and misdemeanors, and if you renounce Modalism.

That is the only way any person of integrity would be able to take you seriously.

Your followers don’t care how many failed prophecies you’ve made.

Anyone who knows Jesus Christ does care about such things, it matters.

So, it shows they don’t know Jesus, and they are looking to you as their “jesus”, so, in their minds, how could “jesus” (you) ever be wrong?

Do you have a list of all your failed prophecies? Does it number into the hundreds?

Granted, it’s unlikely you would be able to remember them all, but make a start.

Maybe these will jog your memory:

David, what a praise to Jesus and glory to His grace if you come out and admit everything publicly, and renounce it.

Publish it openly, and people of character will open the door for fellowship to you.

Are you ready to be accepted as an equal, as a brother, just like anyone else, and NOT as some “great one”?

What is preventing you from publicly acknowledging that you made a number of false prophecies? Will your world fall apart if you admit it?

I keep getting posts here supporting David Terrell.

    You “followers” of David Terrell,

Will your world fall apart if he admits he has made many false prophecies?

Is that just too painful to face? That the “prophet” you “follow” has been wrong many times?

Would that be to think the unthinkable?

You say you trust Jesus, but doesn’t this reveal that you also trust in David Terrell?

The fact that Terrell has many self-confessed “followers” shows that he has failed to point people to Jesus, alone, but has drawn people after himself – people who have come to put their trust in him, so then, when it is revealed that Terrell has been wrong many times, they face a dilemma, a crisis of faith. If they want to cling to this false hope, then, they have to pretend that Terrell is never wrong, as true prophets don’t make multiple false prophecies, do they?

If that is you i have described, then i’m not convinced at all that you know Jesus Christ, and this just reinforces all that has been said here regarding Terrell.

One of the fruits of a true disciple of Jesus is that when they are wrong they admit it.

I’m closing this thread, and will only reopen it when i see a full public apology from him admitting his numerous false prophecies.

I will continue to pray for him.
