Mark 8:38 For whosoever is ashamed of Me and My words among this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him, whenever He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.
Where is the confidence these days in the testimony of who Jesus is, and in teaching what He commanded?
Note that our Lord refers here to a tension between the current wicked generation and the stance of a disciple : whether the disciple will be embarrassed about Jesus before a mocking generation : whether the disciple is truly ABOVE, in Christ, this dead world, and, therefore, walking in the authority of Jesus’ name?
The very fact that JESUS is not preached (only referred to as a support to justify one’s teaching/philosophy) tells us that this “being ashamed of Jesus and His words” is the normal thing these days. May it not be so among His elect.

How someone treats Jesus is always revealed by the way in which they treat His words … invariably.
And the converse is true as well: where we find great faith in the words of God, we find great faith in God.
They’re inseparable.

Absolutely. Yes, He takes it personally when people take His words lightly or not at all.

It’s the “weak” ones, the “children”, who are not ashamed of Jesus and His Words in this adulterous generation.
In Australia, i know, the “J-word” strikes terror into people. They are terrified to hear Jesus’ name spoken with authority, but are so used to it being spoken as a curse.
In christianity “jesus” name is mentioned in almost apologetic tones. There’s no authority.
