Conscious of Jesus, all the time

Rom 1:28  And just as they did not approve (did not like) to have (retain) God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind (a rejected mind, bcos God deems it worthy of rejecting), to do the things which are not fitting…

Here’s an encouragement for those who love Jesus.

The fact that you are conscious of Jesus all the time is bcos He has accepted you and lives in you.

…They did not approve (did not like) to have (retain) God in their knowledge…

Knowledge = epignōsis
From G1921; recognition, that is, (by implication) full discernment, acknowledgement: – (ac-) knowledge (-ing, -ment).

Recognition.

Knowledge, here, means recognition. Now, this is helpful. Those who walk by faith in Jesus,  in the Spirit, always RECOGNIZE Jesus and His Father: recognizing and acknowledging  Him and His work, His Word and promises, covenant.

A false christian does not retain God in their knowledge bcos they’ve chosen to retain ‘things’ or other persons (other than Jesus) in their minds. They are not conscious of Him all the time.  And this is the basis and reason for their spiritual idolatry.

One Response to “Conscious of Jesus, all the time”

  1. ianvincent Says:

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, in order that we might know the things granted to us by God; which we also speak, not in words taught in human wisdom, but in words taught by the Holy Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is discerned by no man. For “Who has known the mind of the LORD, that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
    (1Cor 2:9-16)

…so that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

For those who are fleshly set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death,

but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.

[ Conscious of Jesus all the time – set on Him, by the Spirit]

Because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not submit to the law of God, nor indeed can it. And those that are in the flesh cannot please God.

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.

But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

But if Christ is in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit indwelling in you.

Therefore, brothers, we are debtors–not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you shall die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the practices of the body, you will live.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again unto fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. And if children, then heirs–heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer together, so that we may also be glorified together.
    (Rom 8:4-17)
