Another note on anonymity

When a person hides their identity and refuses to disclose it, then there’s not the basis of trust where we could even begin to believe anything they say.

It’s not a matter of being suspicious of anonymous people, or prejudiced, but simply,  i would be a fool to believe anything they say to me as there’s no basis of trust to begin with. They don’t trust anyone with their identity, so why should they be trusted?

Btw, i’ve come to know a number of believers thru the internet who used pseudonyms in public, but their real names and disclosure in private communications.

Yes, so true, ian. I am finding out here in the blogosphere there are many wondeful sisters and brothers. I wish I new each and every one of you. Someday, we all will meet in heaven. I just know it and then we will actually know one another.

I’m not real clear on that one. As anyone anywhere could pretend to be anybody they wanted to. So I have learned the hard way not to trust too many people. It is wisdom not to trust everybody.

    Hi Hippie,

Yes, they could fake a family photo, details of their life and fellowship, locality, etc. but if they were such a nutter to do that then their lack of character would be revealed in their online communications, beliefs and teachings.

Say for example someone online states that they love you etc. but they are not willing to share who they are, then its false.

I spose what i’m against is ‘fake fellowship’ , love should be unfeigned.
