I think Jesus heard his cry and stopped those fellows from beating him more.

That brother, Walter, should at least install a peephole and tell his daughter, or wife, not to open the door to masked thugs. If she saw the guy in the mask and yet still opened for him, that defies common sense. You would hope that they will have learned now to be more careful.

The Lord help this brother, Walter, in Jesus’ name.

What Walter is saying to them is that two of them had come to him previously and he had explained God’s love for them. At the very end of it, as they are leaving, Walter is telling them that Jesus loves them.

I would be asking for a lot of forgiveness myself, I imagine ….

This is the future. End times 101.

How will we react if they come for us?

Sheela commented that she was disappointed Walter’s wife didn’t jump in and try and defend her husband. She said that if that was me they were beating that she would have gave them good.

We discussed this and we thought that ‘turning the other cheek’ refers more to not seeking retribution rather than prohibiting self defence. There’s a big difference between the two. The LORD also commanded the disciples to take swords with them.
