When will we ever learn

that His power is made perfect in our weakness?

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Cor 12:9-10

It seems we learn this, then apparently forget it, then relearn it again, but in each new dealing with the LORD we emerge stronger than before.

It seems amazing, but true, that only weak people listen to God. Only they listen to what He has to say.

If we’re in a tough place, what else is there but to hear what Jesus our LORD has to say to us? Is there any ‘thing’ else? Is there any ‘thing’ greater than Him speaking to us?

Listening:  Who listens to God?

“A true faith in Jesus Christ will not suffer us to be idle. No, it is an active, lively, restless principle; it fills the heart, so that it cannot be easy till it is doing something for Jesus Christ.”

    George Whitfield

” For Jesus Christ” could be misunderstood. If we are doing something FOR Jesus Christ it should be bcos we understand that it is something He requires, He has asked us to do, and not something which has it’s origin solely in our good intentions.
