Are you happy in India?

(someone asks)

Are we happy and content here? We would not be any MORE happy or content if we lived anywhere else, bcos our happiness is IN Jesus, and how He is manifest in our family and friends – His love between us. We really feel that where ever we are we are ‘home’, bcos we don’t feel that this present earth is our home anyway. Sure, there’s been many times, when things got tough, that i wished i could go back to Australia to an easy life! But i always seemed to get over it. I’ve visited many countries, so i pretty well know what the world has to offer as far as cultures and lifestyles.

This has made me think that the grass is not greener on the other side of the fence.

Each time i’ve been back to Australia i’ve felt less at home there, bcos, as a post-Christian society the love of Christians is getting colder and colder, with some exceptions.

Here in India, our door is open to anyone, and many doors open to us. In Australia, not so, people have their own ‘private’ life and they don’t want real fellowship, or are just too busy. We have a few good friends in Australia, for which we are thankful.

Jesus inspires us to trust Him, eh sister.

    Another note:

There is a difference between soul and spirit, our soul and our spirit.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Soul is not bad or evil. The Word, however, divides between the two, showing us the difference. This is helpful. Our soul is different to our spirit. Our soul should submit to our spirit, bcos the Holy Spirit dwells in/with our spirit.

It’s not bad or wrong to enjoy comforts or things which God has freely given His children, things which come from Him as gifts to His children, yet our spirit realizes that our ‘human side’ should also serve God, and not become a god in itself, serving oneself, rather, we should present our bodies as living sacrifices to Him…

Therefore, if we were solely influenced by our soul as to where we live and what we do, then we could not be servants of Christ.

On the sovereign note, we can see how God has brought us out of a corrupt western society. If we were to return to Australia, there’s many things we would enjoy, but we would have real concern for our children being wrongly influenced by the culture. When they are more mature in the LORD, they would be able to handle it and be a blessing there, but in their development, it would be irresponsible of us to expose them to that stuff.

I wish i could walk around the corner and be with you and your family and fellowship! Ohhhh, the joy when we finally depart from this earth and actually all meet one another face to face.

Thanks. Amen, indeed. But until that day, just dropping by on the blog, or an email, is SO significant, and appreciated.

I agree. The blog is the walk around the corner! :)

If we were in prison for our faith, the little slips of paper smuggled in to us with a few words of encouragement scribbled on them from those we love would mean the world to us. We’re not in prison, but there are some similarities in these times, it can be so isolating when no Christian you meet understands what you are sharing from your heart, or perhaps doesn’t care to understand or even listen.

My life has been enriched for knowing you. Thank you for sharing your life and faith with me. :)
