Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from here. Pilate therefore said unto him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice.
(John 18:36-37)
And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he said unto the Jews, Behold your King! But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate said unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. Then he delivered him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
(John 19:14-16)
We have no king but Jesus.
Yes, we respect the powers that be, but the bottom line is that we DO HAVE a King who rules over us, and we can never betray Him. We will proclaim Him.
Every politician, every person, should fear this King.

It’s profound how that during our LORD’s mock kangaroo court trial the REAL issue actually did come up to the surface. The ultimate issue, over His Kingship, His Kingdom. And it’s still the ultimate issue for all people today: Do you want this King to reign over you? Do you want to be His subject? Not in theory but in reality.
Luke 19:27 But those my enemies, who would not that I should reign over them, bring here, and slay them before me.
This is the ONLY issue in the entire world.
The presence of The King means either:
Great peace or great terror.
