Where is this heading?

I don’t know where this is heading, but I am a bit disturbed by the fact that this is an RC relic.

I don’t know if this is or not His burial cloth, but I don’t need a burial cloth to know He is Lord.

Where it could be heading is as a tool of deception. Now they’ve made a 3D image of, what multitudes of people consider to be, the historical Jesus, then what will they do with it, and what could it be used for? What if a guy turns up who looks exactly the same? Even more deceptive could it turn out to be if there’s a DNA match between the blood on the shroud and the antichrist. Just conjecture. It could be something significant regarding the antichrist. Time will tell.

I did think of those things, Ian. And with the ecumenical movement in full swing, that’s a possibility.

I was chatting via Facebook the other day with an old friend who purports to be a Christian, and she is looking for a political savior. Someone who will bring “peace on earth”.

Yes. The latest development, about the economic doom coming upon Europe, is a bit of a surprise, but then the conditions are becoming more favorable for a charismatic leader to emerge who just oozes with that ‘special something’ , that ‘otherness’, star quality. :)

I would think a cloth that was used 2000 years ago would have long ago rotted. I agree with the deception thoughts.

What could the shroud even remotely be used to try and prove? It could only be used to try and offer token evidence that Jesus is an historical man, and not a myth. Which is already proven by logic, by the written record of history, as 2000 years ago is only recent history, and is covered by the historians and writers of the day. However, the shroud could not prove Jesus resurrection. It’s the image of a dead man.

But what is significant is the human drive to show physical proof. And, what are the consequences if masses of people decide to take the shroud as their ‘proof’ of Jesus?

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come the falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
    (2Th 2:3-4)

As thinking people know, modern science has become a religion. Basically, they think that they’ve scientifically proved that there is no God. How then does that qualify as a religion? Bcos it’s a belief system, based on the hypothesis (hope) that there is no God. It’s a giant leap of faith (into stupidity) to claim that there is no God.

Yet, we see articles and opinion, like: The scientific quest for God. But it’s not really a quest for God.

Now, what if science ‘proves’ that the antichrist is God? (In the same way that they ‘proved’ evolution, and that the universe created itself out of nothing)

What if the antichrist, in his claim to be God, can scientifically ‘prove’ he is God? Then, the religion of science will have to get on-board, and be believers.

showing himself that he is God. Does this mean he ‘proves’ he is God?

Is science really searching for God? Is the CERN Haldron Collider in Switzerland (the biggest experiment in history) a search for God?

Will they find Him that way? No. They will find a false god.
