The dust worships

July 20, 2010

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pities his children, so the LORD pities them that fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone; and the place there shall know it no more. But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. Psalms 103:8-18

He made us out of dirt. And if the LORD tarries, we will return to that same dirt from where we came. Let us worship Him who took some dirt out of the ground and made mankind. And who later came down from heaven and became a Man, the second Adam, and died for us, to redeem us from sin to Himself.

May we always be mindful that we are dust, and the recipients of great mercy in Jesus Christ. Aren’t you glad to know that He knows we are dust, and understands that we are dust, and takes pity on us?

The root of doctrinal error

July 19, 2010

among saved Christians is their refusal to live the life. If you truly live the life, your doctrine will be correct. It’s always a moral matter, an issue of the heart. See for yourself! The guy who teaches silly stuff, just see if he obeys Jesus in his personal life. He doesn’t. Usually, he is still trying to live in 2 worlds: the Kingdom, and his own self-centered world.

Boy Kills Nine Foot Man!

July 19, 2010

A spiritual lesson of David killing Goliath, for us today, is that we are to knock-out violently, by ‘violent’ prayer, the Goliaths which stand in the way of the people of God. By ‘violent’ prayer i don’t mean nasty language or anything; i mean effectual powerful faith-filled prayer which removes the obstacles in our way and from our brethren. As uncompromising and single-minded as young David was.

These fellows (emergents) are a particular nasty mutation in the development – devolution of apostate christianity, bcos they claim to be, or at least posture themselves, as the intelligentsia of christendom, far intellectually superior to those who don’t speak their gobbledygook (code language).

It reminds me of medieval Europe and the role of the catholic church, the gap between the so-called intelligentsia and the common man. It means they are very clever. Even when they are proved wrong they have a clever way with words to make the person who is right look like an idiot. You can’t have a reasonable discussion with a snake.

There is resistance

July 18, 2010

but Jesus has overcome the world. Like trying to run thru waist deep water or heavy snow, our walk of faith suffers strong resistance, and we feel that to move forward there is a great force hindering us. Jesus has overcome the world.

The darkness around us will not dictate the terms of our faith. We are not victims, we are more than conquerors thru Him who loved us. No external pressure will shape my faith, or conform my heart to it. Only Christ within, speaking the Words of eternal life to my spirit by His Spirit.

You’re His project

July 16, 2010

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13

What work is He doing in you today?

Kingdom matters in your life

July 16, 2010

will only develop in proportion to your prayer-life. He won’t advance His Kingdom in your life ahead of your prayer-life, for both are essentially the same thing.

When a man’s ways please the LORD

July 15, 2010

He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Proverbs 16:7

Seeing thru renewed eyes, daily

July 15, 2010

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints… Ephesians 1:18

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind… Ephesians 4:23

We should be seeing things thru renewed eyes, daily. Our daily perspective and take on all things should be a renewed perspective, and a clearer vision. We should see and understand clearer than we did yesterday. This is growth in grace. Renewed, daily.

Enter into the joy of your LORD

July 14, 2010

His LORD said unto him, Well done, you good and faithful servant: you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things: enter into the joy of your LORD. Matthew 25:21

Good to consider the joy of our LORD we will enter into if we are faithful.

One of the benefits of marriage

July 14, 2010

is that one partner will think of things the other didn’t think of. Like having two brains.

If you can’t do it unto the LORD

July 14, 2010

then don’t do it; think it; speak it; write it……..

And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the LORD, and not unto men; Knowing that of the LORD you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the LORD Christ. Colossians 3:23-24

When we ‘do it’ unto the LORD and not unto men, or unto ourselves, then we are kept in a constant state of satisfaction; for His reward; His good pleasure, is OURS. We finally lose interest in any other reward or any other source of satisfaction. This way, He keeps our hearts for Himself and preserves us from self-destruction.

An idol

July 13, 2010

is anything that takes the place of Jesus Christ in our life.

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. 1 John 5:21

God modification

July 12, 2010

I need a new god: a god who understands that i’m really very busy and only can give him a few minutes of my time, and who will thus show up in power at my beck and call, and bless me and my plans. Can I find such a god? Yes! I can imagine that that is what the true God is like and fashion Him according to my thinking and busy schedule, conforming Him to me… : (

We can carry nothing out

July 12, 2010

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 1 Timothy 6:7

What? We can’t even pack a suitcase and carry it out with us, where we’re going? Nothing that we’ve accumulated over a lifetime?

We’re going out! Out of this present world. And we can’t carry anything of this world with us. The righteousness of Christ and His fruit (good works in Christ, works of obedience) alone will be our wealth. That we can take with us, forever.

No other foundation

July 11, 2010

For no other foundation can a man lay than what is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11

A foundation is that which all of a building rests upon. When it comes to a person’s life, there is also a foundation: that which all their life rests upon.

When a person truly comes to Christ and is converted, then their old foundation is destroyed and they have a new foundation for their life. All that they previously believed and knew and trusted in is now gone; it crumbled away beneath their feet. All that their life was established on has gone, vanished, and has been replaced with Jesus Christ.

This is where the window dressing comes in. Some try to build upon a foundation other than Jesus Christ, while calling on His name: thinking they are building in His name.

All of our life should firmly rest upon Jesus Christ as our immovable Rock. That’s why it’s OK to be broken and weak, if it is He who upholds you, who supports you : who is your Foundation.

New every morning

July 10, 2010

It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeks him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:22-26

Harmless, yet not naive, ignorant or gullible

July 10, 2010

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16

The mature saint has both these qualities in harmony.

They’re sitting in darkness, waiting for you to show them the Light………..

Don’t add to His words

July 9, 2010

Surely I am more senseless than any man, and have not the understanding of a man. I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment? who has established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if you can tell? Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add not unto his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar. Proverbs 30:2-6
