The wisdom of God in allowing false signs and wonders

We can see the wisdom of God in allowing the servants of the devil to have real power to do miracles.

It’s a test for the Church, to separate the Elect from the non-Elect.

It will separate and sanctify the Church.

When we see “believers” going after those who preach a false gospel and who are immoral, then, we can try and warn them, but if they don’t heed, then, even though it is sad they are deceived, from God’s perspective it is A GOOD THING that they, the non-Elect (false believers), go after false prophets, for it will maintain purity in the Church. For these people are bad leaven. God is doing the sifting and separating.

Therefore, God HAS A VERY SPECIFIC PURPOSE in allowing the devil’s servants to have real power to do miracles, and that is so that the chaff will be separated from among the wheat.

The devil is on a leash. He can only do what God allows him to do.

Matthew 7:22-23, Revelation 13:13-14, 16:13-14

1Co 11:18 For first of all, when you come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
1Co 11:19 For there MUST be also heresies among you, that they who are approved may be made manifest among you.

And for this reason, godly character is superior to spiritual gifts.

Interesting, that we may look like losers in this world at times, or even be stripped of all we have, but in our confidence in Christ, we will not be ashamed.

This is faith, the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.

And it worketh by love, which bears, believes, hopes, and endures all things.

“Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah,” (Psalm 46:2-3).

Our confidence remains because our faith is in Christ, by the power of the Spirit, and nothing in the things of this world or of the world’s wisdom.

    Pretty cool, huh!

    Amen.

And the bottomline concerning false doctrine and wrong practice, is it’s the absence of the character and nature of Christ Jesus in a person.

    Back to the post:

One reason i think we “aint seen nothing yet” by way of lying signs and wonders, is that, to date, it’s only the kooky crowd who have been sucked-in. Most “non-church” people are not deceived by the charlatans, so far. It’s “church”-going people who have been deceived, so far.

    That’s going to change:

And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, that had the wound by a sword, and did live.
    (Rev 13:13-14)

Rev 16:14 For they are the spirits of demons, working miracles, who go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that worked miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

In the final scenario, even the most hardened unbeliever is won over to the Beast by just how spectacular the signs and wonders are : “seeing is believing” ………..

This will be a great shock to any who think God is “altogether like us”

To come at a perplexing scenario like the tribulation, etc. first believing the wisdom, purity and faithfulness of the Lord will bring us to a very different conclusion than if we come at it from our human reasoning, traits, and logic.

I just received a post castigating me and telling me that the “elect” are only the Jews.

    Sorry, DEAD wrong:

Mark 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Well, the elect here are the gentile believers. At the very end time the Jews will be back in Israel. It’s the gentile believers who are scattered to the 4 corners of the earth, not the Jews.

Rom 8:33 Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifies.

Just Jews? C’mon. Paul is writing to Gentile believers in Rome. He calls them God’s elect.

    Col 3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

Paul telling Gentile believers they are the elect of God. Again, both Jew and Gentile believers.

2Ti 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

    Both Jew and Gentile believers.

    Tit 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

  7. ian vincent Says:

It would be wrong to think that the gathering of the elect from the four winds is the gathering of the Jewish people back to Israel. The reason so is that the gathering of the elect is AT Jesus coming; whereas, the Jews will have already returned to Israel from all the nations when Jesus comes.

The “four winds” means the four corners of the earth: every tribe and nation. Gathering the elect from every tribe, and tongue.

It would be an aspersion on Jesus nature to insinuate that He only addresses the Jewish people as “the elect” , or that His description of the end-times only refers and applies to the Jewish people. Take that idea further and then you have the gospels only applying to Jews, etc…. which would be ignorant. Yes, there are specific directions to the Jews, like those living in Judea should flee to the mountains, but where He is not specific, we must assume what He says applies to ALL WHO ARE HIS SHEEP. (And, the warning concerning the abomination of desolation is not necessarily just addressed to the Jews, though the Jews in Judea have a specific instruction to flee to the mountains)

The Jews will have already returned to Israel before the LORD Jesus comes in the clouds.

That’s the WHOLE BASIS OF MESSIANIC PROPHECY : that God brings them back into their own land, and only THEN does the Messiah bodily return to Israel, deliver them from their enemies, and turn their hearts to Him, and THEN they enter the New Covenant and are born again by the Holy Spirit.

The burden of the word of the LORD concerning Israel, says the LORD, who stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth are gathered together against it. In that day, says the LORD, I will strike every horse with terror, and its rider with madness: and I will open my eyes upon the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the people with blindness. And the governors of Judah shall say in their hearts, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God. In that day will I make the governors of Judah like a hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in sheaves; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah. In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

[ The LORD brings the Jews back, then defends them from annhilation, and ONLY AFTER THIS does He open their eyes ]

And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddo. And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart; All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
    (Zec 12:1-14)

Jer 16:15 But, The LORD lives, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands where he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.

And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, says the LORD. Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name by which he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Therefore, behold, the days come, says the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, The LORD lives, who brought up and who led the descendants of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries where I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
    (Jer 23:3-8)

For I will set my eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. And I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
    (Jer 24:6-7)

Again the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury. Thus says the LORD; I have returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts, the holy mountain. Thus says the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand because of old age. And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets. Thus says the LORD of hosts; If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, would it also be marvelous in my eyes? says the LORD of hosts. Thus says the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country; And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness. Thus says the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, you that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, who were there in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built. For before these days there were no wages for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the enemy: for I set all men every one against his neighbor. But now I will not be unto the remnant of this people as in the former days, says the LORD of hosts. For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things. And it shall come to pass, that as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong. For thus says the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, says the LORD of hosts, and I relented not: So again have I thought in these days to do good unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear you not. These are the things that you shall do; Speak you every man the truth to his neighbor; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, says the LORD. And the word of the LORD of hosts came unto me, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace. Thus says the LORD of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities: And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also. Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD. Thus says the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold, out of every language of the nations, even shall take hold of the robe of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
    (Zec 8:1-23)

And say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, where they are gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwelling places, in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, in which your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell there, even they, and their children, and their children’s children forever: and my servant David shall be their prince forever. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the nations shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them forevermore.
    (Eze 37:21-28)

For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will enter into judgment with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and have divided up my land.
    (Joe 3:1-2)

Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, where I have driven them in my anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

[ Then after bringing them back, only THEN does He make covenant with them. Well, He made the covenant 2000 years prior, but only then do they believe and enter the covenant]

And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
    (Jer 32:37-40)

Zec 10:6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to restore them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.

Zec 10:10 I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; until room shall not be found for them.

    ……………………………………………………………………….

AND it should be self-evident to anyone with eyes to see, that the fulfillment of the many prophecies, that God will bring the Jewish people back into the land of Israel, BEGAN to be fulfilled, in a big way, from 1948 onward, and continues in a steady stream till this day.

Again, showing that God’s calling His people back is not an instantaneous event, like what will happen when the Church is caught up with the LORD to meet Him in the air.

  8. ian vincent Says:

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede them who are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
    (1Thess 4:15-17)

Here, Paul is addressing both Jewish and Gentile believers; he himself being a Jew, and he makes no distinction between what happens to Jewish or Gentile believers at Jesus coming:

…we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord…

“WE” : Paul includes himself with everyone else.

So, someone comes along and says, Not so, Paul! First the Gentile believers are caught up, and the Jewish believers are left behind…..

No. Paul expects that if he were to remain till that time, he, as a Jew, would go up with his Gentile brethren, along with them.

It’s the unbelieving Jews who will not be caught up at the LORD’s coming, but they will repent, as a nation, when they see Him coming.

  9. ian vincent Says:

To the internet troll: First you told me that “the elect” is the Jews and not the Church, and then when i pointed out that Paul was a Jew, then you said that he is part of the Church, and not “the elect Jews”, bcos he is a Messianic Jew. So, now you’re saying that Messianic Jews are not part of “the elect Jews”, and to qualify as “the elect”, therefore, a Jew must not believe in Jesus?? Your theory is unravelling.

Matthew 24:31 And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

His Elect means all who ARE HIS.
