Timely message by David Wilkerson

http://media.sermonindex.net/15/SID15641.mp3

He talks about the fear of God.

Everything in the Kingdom of God works thru and by love.

The thing our brother rightly points out here is, that if the true fear of God is missing, then THERE IS no love of God.

Rather, a soulish, counterfeit love takes the place of the true, holy love of God.

Pro 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

A timely message for sure brother.

    Amen, Jim.

I like the way he points out, that while the fear of God IS respect, reverence and awe for Him, it goes deeper than that (same thing i’ve been teaching the last 20 years).

It means we really understand that God is no respecter of persons – shows no favoritism or partiality.

Paul had this fear of God. He said that IF he were to turn back to sin then God WOULD cast him away, even though he had preached the gospel so much. No exceptions or impartiality, even for Paul.

But, the deception is for an individual to think that THEY ARE THE EXCEPTION to the rule. That God’s word applies to everyone except them, for they are “special”, or a special case.

    Peter said the same thing.

For if after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
    (2Peter 2:20-21)

Just heard David was killed in a car wreck, Ian. I am very sad at such a great loss, but also know he is at home with Jesus. Here is the link to the story…
