Servant of All

And whosoever of you will be the first, shall be servant of all. Mark 10:44

Would you consider yourself to be a servant of all?

What is the outlook of such a disciple? How is their disposition? What are they like in real-life, these servants of all?

How do they handle problems and difficulties among the brethren?

What is the outcome they are praying and working to see?

To the first question, my answer is ‘Nope. Am still having struggles with the servant-of-all thing’
To number 2, Col 3:1-2 will form part of their outlook and they will esteem others better than themselves. Disposition? H-U-M-I-L-I-T-Y.
To the 3rd question, through prayers and wisdom from the Lord.
To the 4th question, Unity of the brethren and for Christ to be glorified.
    *grin*- How did i DO?

You’re on the right track there my friend.

The answers are obvious to any true believer, eh.

And we surely wouldn’t believe anyone who claimed to be a servant of all.

Jesus surely calls us to be one, with the people He’s arranged for us to serve.

(Btw, these are only rhetorical questions to spur thought on the matter)

One thing the Lord showed me is that I need ot learn to die to more thing in my life so that I can be free to serve my brethren. By crucifying my flesh I can be a better servant. Only God can help me do this, the flesh protests such actions.

I heard a brother once say ‘everyone wants to be the next george whitfield – but who wants to be the guy that carried his bags?’ Nobody knows about that guy but God, he was ‘just’ a servant. He didn’t preach down the heavens or any such thing, he ‘just’ carried brother whitfields bags during the traveling.

    Good point, brother.

And even the guy who carries the bags can still open his mouth and tell others about Jesus, and pray, as he carries the bags.

Doesn’t the LORD want us to be just as committed to sharing with the one’s and two’s as we would be to the multitudes? With the same zeal and passion? Maybe He’s watching how seriously we take our dealings and contacts with the one’s and two’s?

And, would love to have carried Whitefield’s suitcase!

And boy, was he loud! What was it, 30,000 people could all hear him clearly, without any amplification?

Will the LORD do that again before He comes?

“And, would love to have carried Whitefield’s suitcase! ”

    For sure brother!

“Will the LORD do that again before He comes?”

    ?

““Therefore, my brethren, I beseech you, in the bowels of love and compassion, that you would come unto Jesus: Do not go away scoffing, offended, or blaspheming. Indeed, all I say is in love to your souls; and if I could be but an instrument of bringing you to Jesus Christ, if you were to be never so much exalted, I should not envy, but rejoice in your happiness: If I was to make up the last of the train of the companions of the blessed Jesus, it would rejoice me to see you above me in glory. I do not speak out of a false humility, a pretended sanctity; no, God is my judge, I speak the truth in Christ, I lie not, I would willingly go to prison, or to death for you, so I could but bring one soul from the devil’s strong holds, into the salvation which is by Christ Jesus.” -Whitfield
