Being led into all truth

But when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you [lead or show the way] into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for He shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. John 16:13-14

Notice that the Spirit of Truth doesn’t push anyone into all truth, He gently leads, and He will only lead a person where they are ready and willing to go. He shows the way into all truth, and we then need to be willing to go there with Him, to let Him lead us and teach us daily into all truth.

To be led into all truth is a long process, but a wonderful one, for knowing the truth sets us free (John 8:31-32, 36). Therefore, it is IMPERATIVE we are led into all truth. If this is the ministry of the Holy Spirit, then it is imperative that this, His ministry, is fulfilled in us. We would never want to desire anything LESS than being led into ALL TRUTH.

As a person is led more and more into ALL TRUTH, then there is less and less in their life, and their understanding of God and His ways, which is not true.

And, being led into all truth presupposes that we are not presently in all truth, and need to be.

Truth has a power to work something, and untruth, lies, error and wrong understanding also has real power to work something. God works with truth, satan works with lies, and yet they are both very much at work.

He shall glorify me… Meaning, that the “all truth” or the whole truth is contained in the Person of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit glorifies the Son by revealing all the truth which is IN the Son to us. Therefore knowing Jesus cannot be separated from the Truth which is in Jesus, the whole truth concerning who He is, and what He has done on the Cross, and His righteousness, His nature and character, and His ways, and His Son-ship, which reveals who His Father and our Father is.
