One woman indicting a whole religion

May 31, 2014

Mariam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag is a 27-year-old Sudanese woman, sentenced to death because of her Christian faith.

When the evil world encounters such a person of Godly integrity they are threatened and don’t know what to do with them.

What an amazing witness this sister is.

One woman indicting a whole religion and a supposed civilization.

Praying.

Self-control is Jesus calling

May 31, 2014

Self-control is simply when Jesus is calling you to do something else – that which has eternal glory and value.

Then you meet God

May 31, 2014

There is this little muscle inside your chest pumping blood, and when that little pump stops working then you meet God.

America Babylon

May 31, 2014

When the topic of America Babylon comes up (Rev. 18) people often point to the fact that nearly every false teaching, practice and cult in Christendom today was spawned from this one nation (excluding the Catholic Church).

But this is not the real danger.

The danger is in self-love and refusal to deny self. This is the root.

This is the culture where all the rubbish (false doctrine) incubated.

The delusion came when the hydrid Christian culture treated self-love, self-glory and self-obsession as normal.

So, Christians became fake, and yet not aware they are fake. When the Christian culture becomes artificial then artificial is normal.

Doctrine is not the primary issue. The primary issue is that Christians developed a culture where being in love with yourself became accepted as normal and healthy.

The Christian who, in relationships, is opinionated, and who usually always talks about themselves and how they feel and what they think, or controls conversations so that it ends up always being about them, has refused to deny themselves and take up the cross.

Carnal Zeal

May 30, 2014

Here’s some thoughts related to the issue of obedience: At the heart of the Lord Jesus’ gospel is the denial and death of self. So, what happens when a man refuses to truly deny himself but still wants to glory in his moral or legal obedience to God?

He won’t even realize that his fleshly, unproductive arguments with people actually are expressions of disobedience to God.

The saddest irony is that the legalist doesn’t seem to be aware that he is breaking God’s laws – he is glorying in his obedience to the law, and therefore denying the very reason the law exists.

In refusing to deny himself he is breaking the law. By harping on about the law he is in fact breaking the law.

Fleshly, self-motivated zeal can even lead people to lie and twist things around, give disingenuous answers, bcos carnal zeal makes a man blind to his own sin, and carnal zeal is the expression of the self-life, and Jesus said unless a man deny that self life he cannot be His disciple.

The God Factor

May 30, 2014

Have you ever been reading a Christian website, articles, Facebook or books

(or sitting thru a church sermon)

and then suddenly a realization sweeps over you, that this has nothing to do with the reality of who God really is? There is no God factor, no infinite glory factor?

The Holy Spirit is sent from Heaven, and He testifies of Heaven, of the only begotten Son sent from Heaven.

Jesus commands us to overcome

May 30, 2014

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not burdensome. For whoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:3-5

Jesus commandments are directly related to overcoming the world.

Sometimes people think of obedience to Jesus commandments as trying to fulfill some legal clause or formality, and therefore they consider the concept petty.

Nope. Obeying His commandments is to do with overcoming a world which is hell-bent on overcoming us.

The victory of faith is manifest in obeying the Lord Jesus and overcoming the world.

Rev. 18

May 30, 2014

And the light of a lamp shall shine no more at all in you; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in you: for your merchants were the great men of the earth; for by your sorceries were all nations deceived. Rev. 18:23

This nation has businessmen who are considered to be the most powerful men on earth, suggesting that it is the economic powerhouse of the world.

This nation also has a bad influence on every other nation in the world.

Now, Revelation 18 can’t be referring to ancient Rome, as she is still thriving there today.

And it couldn’t be referring to modern Rome, as she is not the economic powerhouse of the world.

Does God ever offer suggestions or dish out advice?

May 30, 2014

Now the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain talk; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor the things they affirm. 1 Tim. 1:5-7

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3

The New Covenant has numerous references to keeping the commandments of God. It’s worth noting that the New Covenant approach to Scripture is that every word of Scripture is a command from God. Does God ever offer suggestions or dish out advice?

Every word of God is both a command and a promise.

Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt. 28:19-20

From this command we understand that this is exactly what the Apostles and Prophets in the early church did: rather than being “teachers of the law” they practically applied everything the Lord Jesus taught and commanded.

The words of God are the commands of God, and rarely are they the suggestions of God. A disciple sees every word as a command, whereas a false convert sees them as suggestions.

And the “teachers of the law”, of whom Paul was referencing, cannot understand the words of the New Covenant: they stumble over the commands of the Lord Jesus and the Apostles, as Paul said, not understanding that by going back to the law they are in fact becoming transgressors and lawbreakers. They are in fact disobeying the commands of the New Covenant, and yet they think of themselves as observers or keepers of the law. This kind of religious delusion must be the deepest form of delusion.

It’s also worth noting that the example of the Lord Jesus and His Apostles is also a command, for we are commanded to follow their example. We are commanded to live as they lived.

When you believe, heed and obey the words of the New Covenant then the moral law of the OT is automatically fulfilled, without going back to the OT to check whether you are keeping all the law.

Seeing it is one God, who shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Rom. 3:30-31

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Rom. 8:4-5

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Gal. 5:16

A life of worship

May 29, 2014

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3

Our life of worship to God is summed up in this: obedience out of love.

It means that when you love God you love to do what He says you should do. You never consider any of His commands as a burden.

Only those who love the truth can recognize it

Truth is so obscured nowadays and lies so well established that unless we love the truth we will never recognize it.

A dubious export

May 29, 2014

The artificiality of the hybrid American Christian Culture has spread right thru the western world and into the third world.

Step number one…

May 29, 2014

Step number one: The Scriptures are true.
Step number two: Believe and obey the Scriptures.

These are the steps the Spirit of God takes every disciple of Jesus thru. But counterfeit spirits bypass this and plunge people directly into seeking spiritual manifestations.

False authority is a parody

May 29, 2014

A comment i made somewhere: Apostolic Succession is the belief that the same authority in the church which the original Apostles had has been transferred from person to person down thru the ages till now, regardless of how wicked or heretical these men have been. Only those who are not born again would believe such a thing. It mocks Christ to imply that He would work that way.

False spiritual authority is one of the root causes for modern Christianity becoming a parody of what it was meant to be.

One of the worst things about being placed into a position of artificial spiritual authority is the fact of having to pretend you have authority over others, and pretending is about as far from the real Jesus as it gets.

Limitations of the theological paradigm

May 29, 2014

A lie cannot be made respectable by labeling it a certain kind of “theology”. This is one of the limitations of the paradigm.

Impartation

May 29, 2014

…For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established… Romans 1:11

For us older brothers and sisters, what are we imparting to our younger brethren?

Paul is saying here that what we need is a spiritual gift which will establish us. There are many kinds of spiritual gifts, and not all will establish us. What we need is that which will establish us immovable on the Rock of Ages.

This is what we should desire to impart to the next generation.

Life is so brief, we don’t have much time, but at least in the time we do have we should impart something to the next generation.

With all the young people i know, if only God would impart one thing thru me to them, and that is to understand the Authority of Scripture, then i would leave this world a happy man.

Most people and churches pay lip-service to the Authority of Scripture, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Believing in yourself

May 28, 2014

If you believe what you like in the Gospels, and reject what you don’t like, it’s not the Gospel you believe, but yourself.
