Exclusive Time

June 30, 2015

The essence of the words “holy” and “sanctified” mean set apart exclusively unto God. We need to start with our time. Do we set apart time for God exclusively? When we do we are living out what holiness means, and He touches every part of our life.

The power of a crowd

June 30, 2015

Many times we don’t appreciate the “power” of many people gathered together: a big crowd. When you walk into a rock concert just before the show starts you can almost feel an electricity in the air. And walking into a megachurch shares something of that same dynamic. It’s easy to mistake this emotional phenomena for the presence of God.

Note to self

June 30, 2015

Keep up with current events and issues, and have your say, but don’t let them hijack you from God’s purpose. It’s important to be engaged with whats happening, but it’s also important that events don’t set our agenda.

Life goes on

June 30, 2015

Life goes on until Jesus comes. This is a fact for His disciples. Even as the world literally becomes Sodom and Gomorrah all over again, and everything that can be shaken will be shaken, life still goes on for us, we still need to work and earn our daily bread, we still need to plant gardens, and do business, and get college degrees, and get married.  “Occupy till I come!”

The signs of the times are NOT signs that we should stop living. Life goes on bcos Jesus said He will never leave us or forsake us even till the end of the world.

Morals and Government

June 30, 2015

a) Homosexuality as sin is a Biblical moral absolute.

b) There are no permanently fixed moral absolutes in the democratic process of secular government.

Lean hard

The harder it gets, lean harder on Jesus.

Weak, but filled

June 29, 2015

When a weak person is filled with the real Holy Spirit their weakness becomes irrelevant.

Homosexual Christian?

June 29, 2015

My comments on FB re: Ravi Zacharias talk on homosexual identity :

It sounds like the core of Ravi Zacharias’ argument relates to accepting ones identity as homosexual. But, if a person professes Christ they can no longer identify themselves as homosexual, fornicator, liar, murderer, thief etc. That was their former identity. Now it must be this:

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 [KJV])

They have to die to their former lusts and former identity.

Ravi Zacharias refers to a “homosexual disposition”.  But Jesus calls us to die and be crucified to our “disposition” to sin and be raised to new life in Him

So, the issue is concerning people who are not willing to die to sin and live to Christ, and yet still call themselves Christian. To identify as a homosexual surely means to justify that particular lust.

(Those who market themselves in the Christian media world know that to simply explain what the Bible says will not sell.)

Babylon thriving in the House Church Movement

June 28, 2015

We came “out of Babylon” into house church, simple church or organic church, then we discovered that Babylon was already there and thriving.

It’s a given that when Jesus said “come out of Babylon” He meant that FIRST we truly repent from our hearts of the things of Babylon, so we don’t take them with us. Without repentance, coming out of Babylon would be meaningless. As far as “come out of her MY PEOPLE” is concerned, it means we need to repent that we were ever in spiritual Babylon in the first place, that we approved of things we shouldn’t have by our silence and our passive acceptance.

Naivety in the IC

June 28, 2015

Generally, the Institutional Church does not teach people Biblical discernment (with the rare exception). The atmosphere is not one of testing, weighing or validating things with scripture. The ethos is one where people can’t begin to consider that anything could possibly be wrong, or that their leaders could ever be wrong: a blind, passive, naive acceptance of anything which comes from those deemed as spiritual authority figures. True “critical thinking” doesn’t even enter the equation. This is a fair assessment of Institutional Christianity.

Morally bankrupt, and Christian?

June 28, 2015

We can’t pretend that a person can be willfully morally bankrupt and a disciple of Jesus at the same time.

Question for Obama

June 27, 2015

Mr Obama, so you personally would have no moral objection to having sex with another man, theoretically? I realize you may not be attracted to men, but, as far as you are concerned, you would have no moral objection to having sex with men if you wanted to, right?

(Sorry to put it in such crude terms, but this is the reality. Sometimes things have to be SPELLED OUT in blunt terms to reveal what something really is, to demonstrate that something as repulsive as this has been cloaked in a veneer of respectability, even by professing Christians. This is to demonstrate that moral approval of sin is the same as committing sin, that the President is morally bankrupt, and the western world is speedily coming under the wrath of God)

Doomed Venture

June 27, 2015

History reveals defiance of God’s laws is always a doomed venture.

No surprise

June 27, 2015

No one who believes scripture is surprised when it’s fulfilled.

Be careful what you approve of

June 27, 2015

The justification of evil is just as evil, or even more so, than the act it justifies.

…Who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also APPROVE of those who practice them.  (Romans 1:32)

APPROVING is the same as practicing.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  (Isaiah 5:20)

The “woe” refers to the fact  they will receive eternal punishment.

Choose your fear wisely

June 27, 2015

There are several kinds of “fear” relating to God:

– Fear of coming to God

– Fear of being away from God

– Fear of facing God

– Fear of being cast away from God

– Fear of hell/punishment

– Fear of causing God grief

– Fear of dishonoring God

(Choose your fear wisely)

Shifting the goal posts

June 27, 2015

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron... (I Timothy 4:1-2 [KJV])

A person with a guilty conscience has a chance to repent, but the person with a seared conscience cannot repent, they have justified their sin. They read “Thou shalt not” as “Thou shalt do”.

Regarding Gays, if they still have any sense of guilt or shame then there is hope for them. The many Gays who have been truly born again dealt with their guilt by true repentance and cleansing of the conscience by the shed Blood of Christ. They faced their guilt and experienced the cleansing power of being justified by Jesus Blood.

But the many “Christian” Gays, who don’t believe homosexuality is sin, dealt with their guilt another way, by changing the rules or moving the goal posts of God’s moral absolutes. That’s the other way to remove guilt, by making sin to be no longer sin, so the conscience is no longer in a state of conflict. Change the law so that you no longer break the law. THIS is a seared conscience: like nerves which have been seared by a hot iron so that they lose their feeling. The seared conscience no longer FEELS concerning sin. No bad feelings. No nagging conscience anymore, and, due to the pride of man, what was formerly sin is transformed into a virtue. So, the “Christians” who encourage Gays in their sin are also revealed as ones with a seared conscience, speaking lies in hypocrisy. If you give them what Scripture says about the issue then the response is “lies in hypocrisy” : black becomes white and white becomes black. No chance of an intelligent discussion with them.

They left the IC cos they are religious wackos

June 27, 2015

Some of my comments on the House Church Discussion List  FB page:

Funny how people leave the IC due to the abuses of power and hypocrisy, and then embrace even greater hypocrisy.

Someone posted before something to the effect that the church traumatizes Gays. That may be the case, many times. But if we lovingly set out before them what scripture says, and then the Bible traumatizes them, well, that’s out of our hands. Anytime scripture upsets people they should take it up with God.

If there’s no moral absolutes any more then why make value judgments? Why criticize people who don’t agree with you? It would be hypocritical to do so.

If gay sex is okay, then post gay porn here on this page. Why not? What sense of values would prevent you from that?

So, someone posts gay porn on this page. Which scriptures will you give them to explain that it is sin? Any moral absolute spelled out in scripture?

So, ” IF ” today any of you felt you wanted to engage in anal sex with another man you would not have any scriptural – moral objection to it? If that’s what you desired, then it would be OK?

Obergefell v. Hodges

June 27, 2015

Obergefell v. Hodges, 576 U.S. ___ (2015), is a landmark United States Supreme Court case in which the Court held that state recognition of same-sex marriage is a constitutional right under the Fourteenth Amendment. Decided on June 26, 2015

“White House lit in rainbow colours after same-sex marriage ruling”

(Toronto Sun)

Using a RAINBOW as a symbol should evoke memory of the event when God destroyed the human race for such evils.

It’s like painting a great big red bullseye on your butt and challenging God to destroy you.
