Shallow or deep

November 29, 2015

The things of God are deep, therefore the shallow miss out.

A revelation of where we are at

November 29, 2015

A Biblical church is not a show or performance we attend, but the extension, expression and revealing of where WE are spiritually.

(See 1 Cor. 14)

War

November 29, 2015

In a natural war a man trusts in his gun, but in a spiritual battle a man trusts in His God, and in the power of the love of Christ to conquer men’s hearts.

Spiritual Strength

November 29, 2015

A holy life and spiritual strength in Christ go hand in hand.

You could be wrong

November 29, 2015

Please be open to the possibility that you could be wrong and you could be only one step away from falling into the pit of hell forever. At least admit it is possible that you could be wrong and the Bible could be true. This would be a first step in the right direction.

We encounter people who believe all kinds of superstitions and yet are not open to the possibility the Bible could be true.

Honest with yourself

November 29, 2015

The Holy Spirit cannot take us any further than we are willing to be honest with ourselves.

Play by the rules

November 29, 2015

There are many rules of conduct. The New Testament is full of rules for living, and rules for the church, given by God, by the Spirit. Jesus gave His rules, and these are the rules by which He rules, and we should play by the rules, by His rules.

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.   (2 Timothy 2:5)

Fixed point of reference

November 29, 2015

The Bible is the only fixed reference point by which you can know if you’re OK or not.

RESONANCE

November 28, 2015

The Spirit of God causes the words of God to have RESONANCE in our spirit, for He inspired those words. In this way we worship in Spirit and Truth. Be sensitive to the resonance of the Spirit and the Word in your heart, in perfect harmony. Resonance is the witness of the Spirit.

Transformation

November 24, 2015

“The Church does not exist for EMOTIONAL GRATIFICATION…but it exists for SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION! ”

~ Ron Smith

“If you attend a place you call church, to sit and watch what is going on up front… ”

~ Tim Germain

The redefinition of what it means to be a Christian

November 24, 2015

When a Christian culture dominates a society it actually becomes hard to find many real Christians due to the redefinition of what it means to be a Christian.

Know thyself

November 24, 2015

A very basic thing of the Christian life is we should know the difference between the indwelling Holy Spirit and our spirit, our heart, our mind and our flesh. There’s huge confusion is we mistake our spirit, our heart, our mind or our flesh for the Holy Spirit.

Two sides of the coin

November 24, 2015

There is one coin, and Calvinism only sees one side of the coin, while Arminianism only sees the other side of the coin, both ignoring the other side of the coin, therefore both are faulty theologies.

Love

November 21, 2015

A Christian who loves you is one who is willing to sacrifice his life for you.

Outpouring of the Holy Spirit

November 20, 2015

All the good stuff which happened in the first century church was due to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and we would be mistaken if we thought anything of any similar quality and magnitude can happen today without a fresh outpouring of the same Holy Spirit.

Spiritual becomes natural

November 20, 2015

When a person is truly born of the Spirit their nature is changed into a spiritual nature, so, spiritual becomes natural to them, becomes their nature. For them, to fellowship with God and hear His voice is the most natural thing in the world, more natural than the things of the world.

All speak the same thing?

November 20, 2015
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.   (I Corinthians 1:10)
.
.
Then, in the following verses Paul explains that the divisions he is referring to is when each follows a different man, and hence become divided. They may follow John Calvin, or any historical figure, and this brings division. They may follow a TV preacher, and hence become divided from those who don’t. They may think their Pastor is “the one” and hence become divided from those who don’t see him in such hallowed terms.
.
.
When Paul says you should all speak the same thing it means we should all speak the word of God: the same message Paul spoke. He is referring to a simplicity of faith. The more complex a person’s spiritual thinking becomes the less likely there can be unity in this regard. Most disunity is over things which don’t exist in Scripture, they are man-made traditions. More Scripture, and less opinion, less so and so says, less Calvin says, less Benny Hinn says… and so on. Appeal to Scripture, not to interpreters of Scripture. That’s if you desire unity.
.
.
The only way we can begin to heed Paul’s apostolic command, here, is to all have a simple approach to Scripture, and to knowing Jesus Christ, and to all hold Scripture as the only authority, and to hold one another accountable to obeying Scripture. If it’s not in Scripture, or contradicts Scripture, it’s divisive. As soon as you depart from the commands and example of the apostles you create division.
.
.
For the church, if we don’t heed the instructions for meetings in 1 Cor. 14, then we are divisive. This takes humility and the fear of God. If you have these qualities then you’re ready to heed the apostolic command to all speak the same thing, have no divisions and be perfectly joined together in the same mind and judgment, as you all submit to the real Lord Jesus Christ, obeying His words.

Bursting the bubble

November 19, 2015

God causes people, even unbelievers, to do his will and fulfill his plans and purposes, WITHOUT violating their freewill. Thousands have tried to explain this, but none have succeeded.

Who do we love?

November 19, 2015

If we are in love with ourselves we will always talk about ourselves, but if we love Jesus we will talk about Him and His truth.
