Because it’s the right thing to do

The Christian life entails a kind of “multi-tasking”: You look for Jesus return, and you also face the reality of the shocking stuff that will transpire before He returns – you can’t change the world, but individuals can be saved, so you never give up preaching Christ. It’s important for Christians to do what is right because it is the right thing to do, rather than because it yields such and such results. The glory of Christ is the reason for doing right, not to think you can change the world by doing right, and yet in glorifying Him there is hope that others may also see Him and be saved.
