Do you pray fervently and earnestly?

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual FERVENT prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed EARNESTLY that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
(James 5:16-17)

What kind of prayer qualifies as “fervent” prayer? Verse 17 partly answers this by explaining it is “earnest” prayer. So, what is earnest prayer? How do you know whether your prayers qualify as fervent and earnest? One way you know is whether you rapid-fire your requests to God, the streamlined approach, or you take a little time to consider whom you’re praying for, to consider what God may have to say about the matter, etc.
