“Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness: otherwise you also shall be cut off.” (Romans 11:22)

There’s only two ways to interpret this verse, and both interpretations are in common use these days:

a) It’s exactly the way it says, literally, no “ifs” or “buts”.


b) The LIBERAL interpretation: Well….. (spoken in a whining, mocking tone) ….some mistakenly interpret this to mean that God will cast away His people if they don’t continue in His goodness, but as “God is love”, then, this is not possible… (then speak a whole lot of stuff which has nothing to do with the verse in question, distracting people from considering what the verse says).

Better to stick with interpretation (a).
