Sharing the same Spirit

This is a repost:
When the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost, for the first time humans were truly united, as they shared the same Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit humans are not united, except when they are united by demonic spirits, but other spirits cannot unite humans in the love of Christ – they can unite in all manner of things but never in the truth and love of Christ.

When we meet another true Christian we are meeting someone with whom we share the same Spirit. This is true brotherhood, to share the same Spirit. What a difference it should make when we share the same Spirit. You sit next to someone and consider you have the same Spirit living and breathing in your heart, you live by the same Spirit, you think by the same Spirit, you are empowered by the same Spirit, you understand by the same Spirit.

Your natural family perhaps does not share this same Spirit, but perfect strangers do, and they no longer remain as strangers, they become closer than those family members or relatives who don’t share the same Spirit with you.

So, a Biblical church gathering is where those who share the same Spirit are drawn together and understand the reason they come together and love one another is bcos they share the same Spirit, the Spirit of Christ, bcos, ultimately, it’s about sharing the same Spirit with Jesus Christ: when you meet Him you know you have the same Spirit as He, when you read scripture you know you share the same Spirit with the Son of God, and have been joined to Him by that Spirit.
