The twentieth century

“Mao’s Great Leap Forward, a large-scale economic and social reform project, resulted in an estimated 45 million deaths between 1958 and 1961, mostly from starvation.”

(Wikipedia)

What an unmitigated disaster the twentieth century was.

It’s amazing how we can be so easily insulated from the reality of the sufferings of millions of our fellow man.
