Keeping people happy

We could say there are no holy days, but that may overlook the fact that every day is holy. The New Covenant concept of every day being holy means the reality of knowing Jesus Christ, and of living in Him, never changes, is not altered, is consistent, is eternally the same, and does not becomes special, different or more emphasized on special days. The day makes no difference and has no effect upon this glorious reality. Special days are to keep people happy, not God.

(Romans 14:5-6 [KJV]) “One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.”

So, what Paul is saying is that there is no obligation from God to observe days, and yet if a person is specially consecrating a day to the Lord from a pure heart, not out of obligation or guilt, then he is not sinning.
