Sharp

Hebrews 4:12 says the word of God is VERY sharp, and it spiritually cuts into man’s deepest being, revealing the hidden things, and who he really is. It speaks of this sharpness in absolute terms: as sharp as sharp can be. Now, if you had the sharpest knife in the world you wouldn’t need to apply the same kind of force as you would with a blunt one. Fleshly teaching has to be forced or coerced like a blunt knife, but the word of God is so sharp it has its own inherent power, and does not need to be applied with human force, it will cut by itself, it only needs to be spoken in faith. It is so sharp it doesn’t need our help, only that we declare it faithfully.
