“Our” church

It may take an entire lifetime to get fully deprogrammed from the religious system. One case in point, we tend to view churches as being in the ownership of men, organizations, denominations, and we invite people to “our” church as if it were something we owned, like a house we own, and we invite people to our house, but a church is an assembly, not a building, a subgroup, a microcosm of the body of Christ, and as it constitutes people, only, who can lay claim to the ownership of people? Only Jesus Christ can, thankfully. So it’s not anyone’s church if it’s a real church, it’s an assembling of God’s people as equals. This is the New Testament reality, and it’s hidden from people by the leaders of the religious system.
