Lethargy

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25)

So, Christians can be prone to spiritual laziness, lethargy or apathy where they withdraw into their own private world and forsake the assembling together, and perhaps it’s simply self-centeredness (but oftentimes disguised or excused by spiritual pride), and this lethargy is exactly the reason Christians are exhorted to come together and exhort one another: we need to be exhorted to rise above any power, within or without, which keeps us from assembling together with the saints. If you’re forsaking the assembly, this is the very reason you need to assemble and receive the exhortation of God’s word.
