No surprise

If you’ve been listening to Him, and taught by Him, then it will not be a surprise when He speaks to others through you.

Transcendent

“And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:6)

This is NOW, and seeing as though we are not yet physically in Heaven it refers to the transcendence we share now with the Lord Jesus Christ, as in Him we live ABOVE the spiritual or fleshly forces down here. The issue is about always being ABOVE the world, flesh and devil. It’s the “risen with Christ” factor as we live our day to day lives.

We know

I think we know when we’re not acting in faith.

Beauty

Where ever you see beauty consider who made it it be so, and who gave you the ability to perceive it.

Beauty comes from Him of whom beauty is defined.  The Source, He is truly beautiful, beautiful in Holiness and Glory.

Enough to get by

I don’t have much brains, but I want to have enough to get by.

Mental capacity – limited

Jargon

A comment i made on FB: The thing about creating spiritual jargon is it becomes a code language for the “initiated” in a particular “club” , a subtle expression of stinking pride.

A bunch of thugs

The international political scene will never rise above being like a bunch of thugs fighting among themselves.

Invitation

You know, the New Testament is FULL of commands (not suggestions) and the assumption is that we are full of the love and Spirit of Christ, for if we are not we will perceive them as legalism.

The commands in the NT are either seen as an obligation or an invitation.

….. or we start a megachurch and we simply ignore them completely….

He didn’t have to give you that plate of food

Thankfulness to God takes on more meaning when you consider He didn’t have to give you anything at all.

No entitlement,  and yet you can trust His nature and His promises.

 

Defined by truth

You know, in popular music, if you relate to misery and hopelessness (you like it because you relate to it) that’s not a good thing, right?

 

For a Christian, the truth defines what they like, dislike, enjoy or find boring.

Ever-present reality

“The just shall live by faith”, the Bible declares, which speaks of an all-encompassing, ever-present reality, not a part of your life, but your life, not just church time, or your prayer time, but all the time.

No distance

For a Christian, God looks at you from the inside now, for He’s located in you, as the Holy Spirit in you is no less than God, Himself. A Christian has God inside them. Absolutely no distance between God and His children. This is what the Bible teaches, but many Christians act as if it weren’t true.

Narrating the whole Bible narrative

Last  Sunday preached an overview of the whole Bible in just over an hour  (in a Baptist church)  and i think it’s a good thing to do from time to time.

 

We can also  sit in a circle, giving each person a minute or so, in turn,  narrating God’s history with mankind.

It would be helpful  for keeping the big picture fresh in our minds,  and for new believers to learn what God has been doing the last 6000 years.

Every square inch

You know why there’s no holy place? It’s because every square inch of this earth is holy, it was made by God and belongs to Him.

Holding Israel to a higher standard

Scanning the world news it’s clear that the world media holds Israel to a higher standard of moral accountability than its Muslim neighbors, and therefore they are honoring Israel in this way (though they may be unaware they are).

 

Negligence

Yday found one of my Pine saplings died because it was choked out by weeds, i was negligent in my care, and i took it as a spiritual lesson.

Rise up

The authentic JOY of the Lord can help us rise above our fear of man.
