Focus

August 27, 2017

A person with a gift of the Spirit is in some sense a specialist, like you get medical specialists, and that area of specialization is not all they do, but it is the focus.

Having political opinion does not equal trusting politicians to save us.

The post-Christian world

August 25, 2017

David French, columnist for National Review, reveals that many of the best-educated and least-religious people he knows aren’t all that reasonable. Why does he say that? Because a large number of so-called intelligent people hold to some pretty irrational views about reality. For example, a former Harvard Law School classmate of his laughed at the Bible but believed in reincarnation. French also remembers Harvard students who wouldn’t step foot in a church frequenting a local witchcraft store. So how is it that really smart people think the Bible is dumb, yet they have a fascination with charms, potions and spells? In other words, the world of the occult.

Redirect the love

August 25, 2017

The love you have for yourself, redirect that to God and others and you’ll be living in revival.

Why Israel?

August 25, 2017

God didn’t choose the Jewish nation, rather, He created it. There wasn’t this people Israel who were just so wonderful that God said, I will choose them! God did choose Abraham, and chose to build His own special nation from this one faithful man. This wasn’t favoritism or elitism, this was God’s plan to save and bless people from every tribe and nation through His Son, Jesus Christ. He began with one man, He made one nation, He raised up one Savior, who would reconcile mankind to God. So God’s relationship to Israel has never been one of favoritism or partiality but as a conduit to redeem mankind. So, it’s good God didn’t consult man when He did all this or it would never have happened.

Paragon and fool

August 25, 2017

Man is a paragon, a genius and a fool, all wrapped into one. He uses his incredible mind against the One who gave it to him.

Concern

August 24, 2017

“As Paul faced the difficulties of imprisonment, he was more concerned about the people in Ephesus than he was about himself. Rather than keeping Tychicus close at hand for his own personal benefit, Paul sent him back to bless the people in Asia Minor. Even in his time of difficulty and danger, Paul was concerned more to bless than he was to be blessed. Isn’t that a great example to us today? We so often get upset about our minor inconveniences and ruin our attitude toward everyone around us. Paul’s example should convict us and lead us to be a blessing to others regardless of our circumstances.”

70 k

August 24, 2017

Pray for 70,000 Christians in North Korean prison labor camps who have been found guilty of believing in Jesus and repenting of their sin, and who have the audacity to prefer life in prison (and face a slow, painful death) rather than deny Him.

Discussing with someone who can’t think

August 24, 2017

I’m not being facetious, it takes a real skill, sensitivity and wisdom to discuss a subject with a Christian who can’t think.

Spiritual evolution…

August 24, 2017

Liberals sometimes subscribe to the “spiritual evolution of man” theory, like, Paul is a spiritual Neanderthal and Rob Bell the fully evolved modern spiritual man.

I think when Liberals are offended at a Bible verse they sometimes don’t feel so much offended, but find it humorous, like, “Ah! Paul! That’s all he knew at the time, we need to take into account his cultural world view…” … more a condescending attitude.

Inequity

August 23, 2017

Liberals are extremely selective and partial about what bothers them, there’s no equity or balance, and when confronted with real evil they barely notice.

Take heed

August 23, 2017

Jesus warned, “take heed no man deceives you”. Here’s one of the end-time delusions, the thought that anything with Jesus’ name attached to it must be Christian and be okay. Obviously, the devil has to use Jesus’ name if he has any chance of deceiving Christians, he won’t use the name of Buddha as Christians won’t fall for that.

Just one of the problems (and it’s a big one) with the Bethel movement is they do not believe there is any chance the Holy Spirit can be counterfeited by demonic spirits, they are not even slightly open to the possibility, so when demons manifest they think it’s the Holy Spirit manifesting.

Comfort

August 23, 2017

The fact that Jesus knows your every thought and word comforts the believer and scares the unbeliever.

Living and dying

August 22, 2017

Living for Jesus and dying for Him is the same thing.

Out of the mouth

August 22, 2017

What’s in our hearts comes out our mouths, Jesus said.

Could be a little scary when our own words reveal what’s in our heart.

Or, could be reaffirming.

Ha Ha, nothing happened!

August 22, 2017

Just because nothing happened on the eclipse doesn’t mean America is safe from God’s wrath being poured out. Jesus is coming, and He’s very, very angry, the Bible says. (the Bible, not me) In fact, His wrath is poured out in advance of His coming, as a warning (to those not killed instantly) man is given a chance to repent.

Enjoy

Whatever you do, if you don’t enjoy it you won’t be good at it.

Show me someone who loves the truth of God’s word and i will show you a good teacher and preacher of it.

Lift up your heads?

August 22, 2017

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:28)

What does “lift up your heads” signify here? It’s much more than physically looking up (which is a good thing to do, better than looking down when you pray) it is a spiritual STANCE or POSTURE, a CONFIDENCE, EXPECTATION and LONGING  for Jesus’ bodily return which defies sin, the world, the devil, it’s a victorious, defiant stance over everything which would drag us down and weaken our faith.

People are either lifting up their heads, or their faith is defeated.

Forms of manipulation

August 22, 2017

“Keep your eyes on Jesus” is always the right advice, however, not as a means of manipulation when you don’t like the topic under discussion and want to manipulate it the way you want it to go.

Condescending:  “having or showing an attitude of patronizing superiority”.
