Someone asks, “Did we become ethnically Jewish when we were grafted into Israel?”
No, we don’t become ethnically Jewish. And yet Jesus remains ethnically Jewish. The Kingdom does not obliterate ethnicity, but it means ethnicity no longer divides people.
Jesus is still physically a Jewish Man (fully God, fully Man) and I’m still a Gentile man, yet by the Spirit joined to Him, so i retain my ethnicity, but it doesn’t separate me from being a Jew spiritually.
I read Acts 15 and that’s written to me, i don’t have to be bound to Jewish customs.

ā€œ…There are many who claim to be Christian Zionists who have strayed far from the biblical truth, but the clear teachings of scripture tell us that God is behind the gathering of the Jews back to the land of Israel.ā€

Amen, Ian. And the only one that matters is your ‘spiritual ethnicity.’ Temporal national identity is meaningless in light of eternity. Isaiah 40 tells us that the nations of men are worth ‘less than nothing’ to God. (Of course, this doesn’t mean the *individuals* in those nations, who are of great worth individually to God.)

As far as salvation goes, yes, ethnicity does not matter, and yet as far as God’s purposes for the nation of Israel, yes, ethnicity matters.

Let me clarify, God’s promises to natural Israel, the natural children of Abraham, is that He will preserve them as a nation, bring them back into their own land, and reveal His Son to them, resulting in a national restoration, and the majority born again, receiving a new heart and spirit, therefore this ethnicity is very significant to God AND the devil, as the devil has tried desperately to exterminate this race, and now to remove them from the land God gave them. The devil is very interested in Jewish ethnicity. And the Jews are very interested in their own ethnicity, even though they have been blinded by God until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in.

Yes, I was tracking with your train of thought, Ian.

  6. Milind Says:

So would the restored Jews be joined to the church and lose their separate identity? According to Rom11 they would be grafted back to the olive tree where the gentiles have been grafted in to.

  7. ian vincent Says:

Saved Jews don’t have a separate identity, as such, than us, as in Christ there is no difference between Jew or Gentile, so Christ is their identity, as with us, but a somewhat different ministry and geographical location. As i see it, when Jews get saved they have an especially powerful witness to their own nation because they are in the unique position of being able to demonstrate to their kinsmen (according to the flesh) that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah, the hope and King of Israel, and not a religion created by Gentiles. The different end-time witness is marked out in Revelation 7.
