You don’t find God by reason alone, but once you’ve met Him He never asks you to jettison it, that would be insane.

Tell people

Tell people it’s possible for them to live with God forever because of what Jesus did for them on the Cross.

The strangest beliefs come from people who claim to have no beliefs.

When Calvin becomes your conscience

In scripture, salvation is always conditional upon faith, never unconditional. That’s a fact.

 

No, a conditional promise is not “works”, that is, meeting the condition of the promise is not earning salvation, that’s a shrewd way of twisting a plain fact.

 

So, yes, eternal security of the believer, yes, indeed, as long as he abides/remains a believer.

 

By definition, any “believer” would have to be one Jesus considers to be a believer.

 

The five foolish virgins who were locked out (Matt 25) thought they were believers, they were even looking for the Lord’s return. By outward appearances they were believers.

 

It’s strange how one man, John Calvin, could have such an effect upon how people read the Bible, even becoming their conscience. The Bible warns against such a concept.

Listening to God

If a person cannot listen to the word of God they cannot listen to God, if they can’t understand the word of God they can’t understand God.

More than we could imagine

God is far more good than we could ever imagine.

No fear

That which is done by faith has no fear attached to it.

Gold fish in a bowl

The post-Christian west is made up of many “post-Christians” – individuals who live within the lonely, closed-loop of narcissism, their own private world, and, then, their society becomes just that, a little world within a world, like gold fish in a bowl, unaware there is a much greater world outside their world, insensitive to the extent of the suffering of the human race.

Pretense

Let’s give up the pretense that the world is a civilized place.

Light

Jesus is the Light, He dwells in Light, and evil spirits dwell in darkness, so, where do you dwell? Are you desiring and believing His promise you will be filled with His glorious light and have no darkness in you?

Missing out

If we don’t give God much time we remain spiritually poor, we miss out on so much.

A baffling mystery

One aspect of “Mystery Babylon” (Rev. 17) is the way people take the name of Christian, even claim to be the leaders of Christ’s church, and yet, really, don’t believe anything Jesus said, and THAT is a mystery. It’s a mystery how people could be THAT stupid. It’s a mystery that people could be so naive to think the grand Christian corporation has anything to do with Jesus of Nazareth.

Get moving

“Stand up! Walk!” … Jesus commands a man who can’t walk.

And up he gets, and off he goes.

Same for us today, when He says “Get up! Get moving!” then we can, and we must.

Obedience and disobedience

We have to give God all the credit for our obedience, but take full ownership of our disobedience.

Promptings

A “good day” is one when you recognize and act upon the promptings of the Holy Spirit within  –  it’s a wonderful life.

The dead come to life

The Good News is the dead come to life, really.

Knowledge for knowledge sake

Eve saw that the tree was to be desired to make one wise. She was seeking knowledge or wisdom, but at that time she did not need to seek after any more wisdom or knowledge than what was already given to her by God. They had everything they needed, they didn’t lack a thing. But they believed the devil when he told them they lacked something, that God was keeping something from them.

So we have a NT parallel :

“..Ever learning, but never coming to the knowledge of the truth”

A unique nation

Israel has history on her side. Even ancient history. And that history is unique, for no other nation had God fight for them. I mean literally fight for them.
