What does Jesus want from you?

June 25, 2018

What does Jesus want from you? He wants your heart and life. He wants you to turn away from sin, and turn to him, believing he is who he said he is, the Son of God, and trusting he has done it all to pay for your sin and make you right with God.

What does Jesus want from you?

Next question:

Does Jesus want you?

The Bible says that he is not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

This is his will for you.

Jesus wants YOU.

What is your will?

Great chasm

June 24, 2018

Already there’s a great chasm between “Christian views” and “Biblical Christian views”.

Equity

June 24, 2018

True Christians love equity, and they’re unhappy even when their enemies are treated unfairly or lied about.

How to live

June 24, 2018

Live by faith. To live by faith is to live by the Father, through and in his Son, Jesus Christ. To live by faith is to not live by man, or by yourself – your own means or resources.

Is it a coincidence the words “live” and “love” are nearly identical?

The “occupation”

June 23, 2018
“And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” (Zechariah 12:3)

Why would “all the people of the earth” be against Jerusalem? Please pause a moment and consider the question. What could be the primal cause for this hatred? I take it to mean the whole world becomes against the fact that the Jewish people have sovereignty over the city of Jerusalem – this is the sore point, the “burdensome stone”, the painful wound which stirs up hatred in all the peoples of the earth. How could this happen? I suggest because the whole world becomes sympathetic to an Islamic claim over the city, thus characterizing the Jewish people as illegal immigrants or settlers in Jerusalem, who, by this fact, are, supposedly, causing insult and suffering to the Islamic people by denying them this city. How else could we interpret it other than a global siding with Islam over their belief the Jewish people have no right to live in Jerusalem, that they have an illegal occupation of Islamic land, and thus are criminally responsible, and need to be forcibly removed?

If you have another interpretation as to why all the peoples of the earth turn against Jerusalem I would like to hear it.

Unique love

June 21, 2018

The love of Christ is totally unique, for it is the love of someone who was willing to die for you.

You must be born again

June 21, 2018
“Don’t marvel that I said unto you, You must be born again” (John 3:7)

“Born again” is not some kind of Christian sect, it is what happens inside you when you truly repent and trust Jesus to save you. You must be born again.

Nice enemies

June 20, 2018

Not all God’s enemies are full of hatred, many of them are kind, considerate and generous people, and, yet, he counts them as his enemies, all the same, for they refuse to believe his Son, Jesus Christ – because when they are faced with the fact Jesus died for them, they continue to hold him in contempt.

The best is yet to come

June 20, 2018

For the Christian, everything God has done in them in the past is for a future glory – the best is yet to come. In fact, even the least Christian has unspeakable glory awaiting them.

Fooling ourselves

June 20, 2018

If we think we can love God without loving his people we are fooling ourselves.

Bizarre experiment

June 20, 2018

Not disciplining your children is a bizarre social experiment gone terribly wrong.

Your word is truth

June 19, 2018
Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth.” (John 17:17)

His word is truth, the sanctifying, saving truth which imparts life, and conforms us to the image of Christ.

How much time do we have left?

June 19, 2018

People can die at any moment. And that moment is the same as if Jesus came back, for them. Mostly, people don’t realize by how fragile or tenuous a thread their life hangs, by the sheer good pleasure of God.

“Letting” Jesus do the judging?

June 19, 2018

That’s very magnanimous of you to “let” Jesus do the judging, I’m sure he will appreciate that on Judgment Day. The problem is, in “letting” Jesus do the judging, it could be YOU who will be judged for not having the integrity to speak out.

Worldliness

June 19, 2018

Worldliness is simply when God doesn’t satisfy you.

Humble

June 18, 2018

If people are humble, then they should get on OK, eh.

Rule of law

June 18, 2018

The rule of law must be upheld at all costs, and as Poirot said, “if it falls you pick it up and hold it even higher”. There are certain elements in society who are always testing the boundaries of the rule of law as to whether they can bend it to suit their own interests, at the expense of the interests of others. A Christian looks for a kingdom to come, but they are thankful to God wherever he has sovereignly and graciously kept the rule of law in effect, and the subsequent civilized society. The rule of law means if you break the law you receive justice, you are punished according to the nature of the offense. In some societies we are seeing a break down of the rule of law, where violent groups are permitted to operate outside the rule of law because they are too dangerous to rein in, they are holding civilization hostage, they are the de facto authority by mob rule. In some societies, with the help of social media, where enough people mobilize together they can successfully become their own law and do what they like, and the authorities are powerless to stop them. Humanism and Liberalism has bred a new kind of political leader, the spineless jellyfish, unwilling to enforce the rule of law, and such are not leaders at all, they are patsies, and the mob will rule them.

Govern

June 18, 2018

The word of God has to govern the human heart.

What it means to be blessed

June 18, 2018
(Matthew 5:3-12 [KJV]) [3] Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [4] Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. [5] Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. [6] Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. [7] Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. [8] Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. [9] Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. [10] Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [11] Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. [12] Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
These are the qualities of Christ Jesus.
The blessing of God is on those with these qualities:
1. The poor in spirit
2. They that mourn
3. The meek
4. Those who hunger for righteousness
5. The merciful
6. The pure in heart
7. The peacemakers
8. The persecuted
All signifying Christ-likeness. The blessing is only in being Christ-like.
They are blessed by God. God pronounces them “blessed” right now, at this time.
It’s a little different to man’s idea of what qualifies for blessing.
It is only this blessing by God and from God that matters, and which makes the difference.
The blessing is the fullness of the Spirit, in knowing, experiencing, walking with, hearing, fellowshiping with Christ.

Conviction and fear

June 18, 2018

Conviction of sin by the Holy Spirit produces the fear of God in sinners, they are confronted by the terrifying fact that if they die today they face the wrath of God and the torment of hell forever. Pray for this work of the Spirit in many lives leading to a revelation of Jesus.
