When love was blind

December 8, 2019

The theory of Natural Selection presumes creatures would have had to first evolve eyes which work before they could start selecting desirable mates to mate with.

Unless love was truly blind. 😀

Oh yes

December 8, 2019

400 million people have installed the YouVersion Bible app.

Oh yes.

You’re a capitalist

December 8, 2019

If you enjoy any of the comforts or benefits of modern technology then you’re a capitalist at heart.

To have the simplicity of Christ pray simple prayers.

Read it carefully

December 8, 2019

Some people say the Bible is just words printed on paper.

What if someone found the cure for cancer and wrote it down on a piece of paper?

Oh, that’s just a piece of paper!

No, it’s not. It’s the cure for cancer. If you think it’s “just a piece of paper” then you’re an idiot.

Just think of what price people would pay to get their hands on that “just a piece of paper”?

The cure for our lost condition was written down on paper.

Read it carefully.

Who you are

December 7, 2019

There are two kinds of beauty. One is skin deep, and the other, much deeper than your skin: it’s who you are.

Good question

December 7, 2019

Who are you?

A great question.

Are we all children of God?

December 6, 2019

Are enemies of God children of God?

Of course not.

They are made in His image, so, in one sense, they can be called children, but because of sin they are spiritually dead and separated, condemned and cursed “children”.

The people in hell today won’t take much comfort to be informed they are children of God.

So, when world leaders say, We are all children of God! …in an attempt to bring unity in a divided world, it shows they don’t know what a child of God is.

You have to be one to understand.

You MUST be born again, Jesus said.

Everyone a child of God?

December 6, 2019

When you see “Christians” saying that everyone is a child of God, then they’re not Christians, because Christians believe all are sinners under God’s wrath, and its only through faith in Jesus that a sinner can be forgiven by God and recreated into a child of God.

This means the Pope and Trump are not Christians, by statements they have made.

If they really believe that a person is a child of God without Jesus Christ, then they’re not Christian.

Absence of truth

December 6, 2019

If you don’t have truth you believe a lie and live a lie.

A Christmas for non-Christians

December 6, 2019

Cities are being ordered to make Christmas nativity scenes more culturally acceptable to non-Christians.

The sight of baby Jesus in the manger might cause panic attacks.

Easy to forget

December 6, 2019

“During the holiday season it’s easy to forget Jesus.”

Wouldn’t it be easier to forget the “holiday season”?

First step

December 6, 2019

Do you know what Jesus requires?

That we believe Him.

Can you imagine someone trying to be your friend if they didn’t believe you? They didn’t believe anything you said?

It’s not going to work.

So, why would you judge Jesus as being someone who can’t be believed?

Take that first step and say, Lord Jesus, I believe you.

Not ashamed

December 6, 2019

I’m not ashamed that Jesus is Jewish, that He is the King of the Jews, the King of Israel.

I know that the Jewish people are not morally superior beings.

The Bible says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

But if you hate the Jews, it’s almost certain they are your moral superiors.

Synergism or monergism?

December 6, 2019

For those of us who’ve been born again, we can observe retrospectively how we were born of God, born of the Spirit.

On one hand it was all God.

On the other hand we were not forced against our will.

There’s nothing we could take credit for.

Now, this is where the Calvinists disagree.

They think that if my will is involved at all then that means I am taking the credit for my salvation and am saving myself.

But “saving yourself” can have different meanings.

Peter exhorted the Jews to “save themselves” from their perverse generation.

Fleeing the wrath to come could be described as saving yourself from the wrath to come.

But “saving yourself” by observing Jewish laws doesn’t work (as per Galatians).

Look at it like a marriage.

If the groom has done everything, provided everything, and all the bride has to say is, Yes! Or, I do! Then, is the bride earning or achieving anything by saying, I do,!

And, what if the bride’s decision was not necessary for the marriage?

Let’s say it’s a “monogernistic” marriage where she has no say in it.

How would that be?

For me, I would say Jesus saved me by His will, but not against my will.

And by saying that there’s zero glory I can credit to myself.

And that’s grace.

Unchallenged hypocrisy

December 6, 2019

One definition of a false church is where hypocrisy is unchallenged.

A nation divided

December 5, 2019

It’s a dilemma if half the country doesn’t want Liberal values forced on them, and the other half doesn’t want Conservative values forced on them. It’s like a nation divided into  two separate nations.

Nature of our prayer life

December 5, 2019

The nature of our prayer life often reveals our true values, priorities, and where our love is, and to whom it is directed.
