What is the true Gospel?

January 19, 2020

THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS

“For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of no effect. For the message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

1 Corinthians 1:17-18

There’s a lot of debate, and rightly so, as to what the Gospel or Good News actually consists of.

The Good News is the message of the Cross.

Every aspect of God’s redemption is in the Cross, for this is how He redeemed us.

The Cross speaks of amazing grace, amazing love, a finished work, a gift to be received, the sinfulness of man, the sinfulness of sin, the depravity of man, the lost condition of natural man, the consequences of sin, heaven and hell, the wrath of God against sin, God’s righteous demand and requirement that we repent, the law being fulfilled, the devil defeated, a new creation, adoption as sons, forgiveness of sin, full assurance, peace with God, and so on.

If we fully preach the Cross, preaching Christ faithfully, then we cover the whole message of God to man. We are then faithful witnesses, faithful messengers.

If we avoid preaching the Cross, then we tend to misrepresent the truth and reality of God’s salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Father wants and expects His children to implicitly trust His Fatherhood.

What we love the most

January 18, 2020

What we think about the most is what we love the most.

Revival

January 18, 2020

“Revival is the people of God living in the power of an ungrieved, unquenched Spirit.”

~ James A. Stewart

Growth

January 18, 2020

An indicator of Christian growth is that you long for heaven and less for this world over time.

Doubtful

January 18, 2020

A Christian who cannot tell the difference between what is true and what is false is often that way because they don’t care about what is true or false, so, therefore, their Christianity is doubtful.

Lawlessness

January 18, 2020

“Lawlessness is living as though your own ideas are superior to God’s. Lawlessness says, “God may demand it, but I don’t prefer it.” Lawlessness says, “God may promise it, but I don’t want it.” Lawlessness replaces God’s law with my contrary desires. I become a law to myself. Lawlessness is rebellion against the right of God to make laws and govern his creatures.”

~ John Piper

Do they have a chance?

January 17, 2020

It’s the world against God.

Hey, do you think they have a chance?

Boring

January 17, 2020

Life is too boring without God.

In fact, it’s no life at all.

Are you ready for “The Christ”?

January 17, 2020

The antichrist won’t be called the antichrist, he will be called The Christ.

No place there

January 17, 2020

If we’re not filled with the love of God it’s because other things have taken its place.

They don’t get away with it

January 17, 2020

With God, no one “Gets away with it”.

But the fool thinks he can.

Why?

January 17, 2020

The Bible says, Christ died for all.

Whoever is reading this, Christ died for you.

Discover why.

Never alone

January 16, 2020

Sometimes we have to be really alone before we realize we’re not alone.

Why live?

January 16, 2020

I shall not die, but live,

And declare the works of the Lord.

Psalm 118:17

David  understood that living only has meaning in declaring the works of the Lord.

Otherwise, why live?

Explaining the Palestinian mythology

January 16, 2020

Two little boys were sitting around bored.

There was a tricycle sitting there.

Both ignored the tricycle all day.

Suddenly, one of the boys goes over and gets on the tricycle.

The other boy starts yelling, It’s mine! Get off, I want to ride it!

This is an analogy of the history of the Land of Israel, and the creation of the “Palestinian” mythology.

Straight from the horse’s mouth

January 16, 2020

You know, to praise God you don’t even have to know how to sing, you can just tell Him directly what you think about Him and His works and attributes.

Which spirit?

January 16, 2020

The spirit of error always empowers the flesh.

The Spirit of Truth always crucifies it.

Life

January 16, 2020

The Christian life is the life of Jesus lived out because He indwells.

Glory

January 16, 2020

If we’re filled with the Holy Spirit we always see and experience the glory of the risen Lord Jesus Christ.
