Evangelism thoughts:

 

Friend, can I ask you a personal question in regard to where you stand before God? Because, if you’re not in right standing with God I would sure be glad to see that you are.

 

The question is this, and it’s a rhetorical question between you and God, so don’t answer me:

 

Have you done any things in your life which you believe or feel are wrong?

 

If so, how do you know those things are wrong? Is it just based on your feelings, or are you conscious that there’s something beyond yourself which registers that it’s wrong?

 

And, what if that wrong thing didn’t harm anyone else: how is it then that your conscience still tells you it is wrong?

 

Does this tell you that right and wrong is not something you, by yourself, on your own, have determined?

The age of enlightenment

What has all the educated enlightenment done for mankind?

It’s just put suits on savages.

Here and now

One thing about the true Christian faith is, that because you’re promised such an amazing future, you can really enjoy the present.

Where the home is

A true Christian goes to the throne of God every day, so they’re certainly ready to die and go to heaven because they go there every day. They have already become more at home there than down here.

Removing the basis for fear

When Jesus says, Don’t have fear! He means He is the reason we are not to fear, so we no longer have any valid reason to fear.

 

Jesus removes the basis for fear, and then says, Fear not!

 

But if we are not IN Him, then we would have very valid reasons to be very afraid.

The connection

How many Christians have experienced the connection between consecration/sanctification and spiritual strength?

An air of suspicion

Now that Corona is in circulation, anyone sneezing or blowing their nose in public will be under suspicion.

A truth for NOW

Here is a truth for NOW and all time:

 

“…Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

 

1 Peter 5:7

 

Will we do this today?

The good burning

So many have no clue about this:

 

“Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?”

2 Corinthians 11:29

 

Many can’t relate to it because they don’t really know the REAL Jesus.

And why should they care anyway, if they’ve subscribed to the modern, shallow, superficial “Jesus”?

We would rightly assume that Paul kept his burning righteous indignation under control.

And he committed it all to God in prayer.

A trend

There’s a trend in Christendom to try and make the word of God conform to the guilty conscience, rather than the guilty conscience conform to the word of God.

The slippery slope

The danger of lying to yourself is that, sooner or later, you will start believing your own lie.

No victims

None of the heroes of the Bible were victims of circumstance.

Will you be there?

Heaven is so good that there’s no words which can adequately describe it.

Alarm bells

As Christians, we want to sound the alarm, without being alarmists, if that makes sense.

Green

Usually (but not all the time) Green solutions are good sense, even if it’s true that human activity has a miniscule effect on climate change. Any destruction of the natural environment is bad stewardship, even if it won’t change the climate. The history of climactic changes has nothing to do with human activity.

Worse

The defense of evil has to be worse than the evil that’s being defended.

Fire

Hell fire is for eternity, Jesus said, so choose your eternal destination wisely.

Pacifying the conscience
