Why you are not required to keep the Sabbath as per the Law

The essential reason Jesus is our Sabbath REST is because He has completed the WORK on the Cross.

The WORK of salvation was finished and completed on the Cross.

Now man must enter His Sabbath rest by faith.

It’s no longer about Saturday.

We live in the Spiritual Sabbath who is Jesus Christ.

If you are still “working” to earn acceptance with God then you can’t be accepted by Him.

This is just my opinion, that I believe when God rested on that first Saturday from working for six days creating the Universe it wasn’t because He was tired and needed a rest, because the Scriptures tell us God never tires or is weary.

He rested on and hallowed the seventh day as a day of rest as a spiritual symbolic statement and metaphor FOR OUR BENEFIT, to teach us to understand it was to symbolize, and hence foreshadow, the death of His Son, the Lamb of God, and reveal the reason for the necessity of His death, and what His death would accomplish, which is LIFE, PEACE and REST, forever.

If the Sabbath Day is symbolic of rest in Christ, and Christ is the fulfillment of that symbolism, then do we need to observe it? No.

We are not UNDER the OT law of the Sabbath, so our conscience is no longer tied to it, however, if a person refuses to rest they are very foolish.

Telling people what they can or can’t do is easy, but it’s fruitless, because what does it matter if someone says do, or don’t do something?

The only hope is people understand what the scripture says and then their life is based on a true understanding of God’s word and not what their pastor said.
