“I think progressive Christianity is a sleeping giant,” she said.”

Not only is it a ‘sleeping giant’ but it’s also a false religion. Progressive “Christianity” is a doctrine of demons. God doesn’t conform to the changing times. Sin is still sin and abominations (some of which are represented by members of this group) are still abominations. God will never change to accommodate man’s increased desire to commit more sin.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.” ….. Hebrews 13:8

Progressive ‘Christians’ are among the group of foolish virgins (false believers) referred to in Matthew 25:1-13 in the Parable of the 10 Virgins. They have all the appearances of being true followers of Christ, including doing good works and even sounding like them, but the problem is they have no oil in their lamps. In other words, they lack the indwelling Holy Spirit in their lives. Further on in the chapter in verses 31-46 Jesus tells us the Parable of the Sheep and Goats. The sheep is referring to the wise virgins who had the oil of the Holy Spirit in their lives and the goats represent those who don’t have the oil.

Matthew 7:21-23 tells us how the story of the ‘goats’ will end:

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Simply proclaiming that you are a Christian doesn’t automatically make you one. A change needs to first occur inside of you which only the Holy Spirit can accomplish. We must ask God to forgive us of all of our sins and invite Him to come in and take control of the throne of our lives. It is absolutely necessary that we see ourselves as we truly are, lost sinners without Christ.

The moment we ask God to cleanse us and forgive us and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior is when the Holy Spirit comes into our lives and changes us. He does that by giving us a brand new nature, born of the Spirit, This new nature is incorruptible:

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” ….. 1 Peter 1:23

When the Holy Spirit comes in and dwells within us, is what it means to be born again and it’s at this moment that our lamps are filled with that all-important oil spoken of in the Parable of the Virgins.

Please don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a true follower of Christ because of your works or because you agree with what I’m telling you. The only way that you can be saved is by being open and honest with God and pour out your heart to Him and ask Him to save you. Sincerity is key here and God knows if you’re sincere or not.

Don’t be like the foolish virgins who claim to be Christians because of their works, or the way they sound and dress, but choose to be a wise virgin by being genuinely ‘born again’ and allowing the Holy Spirit to dwell inside of you. Choose to be a vessel containing the oil of the Holy Spirit.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

    Absolutely agree.

Christendom has reached a fork in the road.

Progressives are not Christian, though they know Christian jargon.
