Why don’t Christians walk up to total strangers on the street and tell them, “I love you!” ?

We are supposed to love everyone, right, so how will they know unless we tell them?

Obviously, wrong, at every level.

Pretty wacko, right?

We’re obviously allowed to declare our love for someone we love.

But have you noticed Jesus never said to anyone, “I love you!” ?

By the modern mind that would mean He was inhibited and couldn’t really express what He felt.

But He didn’t need to tell people He loved them.

If they couldn’t understand by His life and actions that He loved them, then what would be the point of telling them?

And then it would become a trap. Some poor souls would say, “But Jesus didn’t tell me He loves me!! He told others but He didn’t tell me!!”

I’m not against saying, “I love you bro”.

(Better not to say it to a sister, especially these days)

I realize just mentioning this could put some into a tail spin.

But anyway, have a think about it.

You MUST be born again, Jesus said.

There are truly born again people who attend nearly every kind of church there is, of every denomination, and even some cults.

And there are born again people who don’t attend any church.

But they are all God’s property, not the property of an organization.

Scripture says it is God’s will and plan to bring all these, His children, to full maturity in Christ.

“….till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”

Ephesians 4:13-16

Regarding Paul saying he was “chief of sinners” he was surely referring to his past and not present, for how could he continue to be sinning more than anyone else in the church? If he was still the greatest sinner in practice he would be a hypocrite to teach others.

He said he lived “in all good conscience till today”.

Another point, I agree that no believer is perfect and no believer can say they have no sin (as per 1 John 1) however let’s also consider there are two kinds of error here:

A. The guy who claims he has reached sinless perfection.

B. The guy who keeps “sinning” because his conscience is weak, and to him everything is a sin. He sees just normal humanness as grave and serious sin and is always beating himself up. He’s actually trapped in his own world because his conscience is weak, so he has a full time job dealing with his “sins”.

I think Paul summed it up for himself when he said “in my flesh dwells no good thing”.

And…

“But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:27

We can and should know and acknowledge what is lurking in our flesh, and mortify it by the Spirit, and live with a free conscience.

Do you remember Zac Poonens old teaching about always struggling with the flesh?

It was an imbalance, which produced a weak conscience, and thus became a vicious circle, a trap.

If you get grass roots news from various nations you understand that wickedness is increasing to unprecedented levels, just as Jesus foretold.

If Trump was actually against the military you would expect the Left to support him in that.
