When Jesus said, before Abraham was “I AM” (John 8:58) people could have asked, ‘I AM what, exactly?’ And the answer would be, He meant, “I am God”, because this is the term God told Moses to use when they ask who sent you, tell them, I AM sent you.

“Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”
