When God reveals Jesus to a person it doesn’t imply He is forcing their will.

So, in such cases, He chose to reveal Himself to that person, yet without forcing their will.

If they respond to that revelation it’s not because they are forced to respond.

It has to be our decision.

As marriage is a picture of salvation, the Bridegroom calling His Bride, then in natural marriage, the bridegroom only wants to marry the bride who wants to be married to him. He wouldn’t want to marry a bride who didnt want to be married to him.

The woman has to have a choice in the matter.

We can also say, that when an amazing gift is offered to us, it kind of makes up our mind for us.

With the marriage analogy, the bride doesn’t earn her place as a bride because the man has already chosen her, and therefore there is nothing she needs to do to get him to marry her if he has already decided and chosen her. All that is there for her to do is to accept the proposal.

So, this is a picture of our salvation.

Jesus died for all, the scrioture says, so if anyone believes on Him, and accepts Him, His promises, and all He has done, then that act of acceptance is not a “work” as in trying to be saved by good works. She can’t boast that she accepted the proposal.

If I won a million dollars in the lottery and then went down to the bank and signed for it, accepting it, I can’t boast that by accepting it I earned it or achieved it, or deserved it.

I’ve heard people say that if people have a free will to choose then that means they have earned their salvation, which is not true.

The wonder of God’s absolute Sovereignty is that He can work His will without violating or taking away man’s freewill.

That’s what He does. No one can figure out how He does it, but He does it anyway. It is beyond the capacity of the human mind.

Generally, people don’t like things beyond the capacity of their mind.

See how this man wanted to justify his lack of love for people and still think himself righteous?

To do this he had to invent a doctrine which says, my neighbor doesn’t actually mean my neighbor.

And Jesus straightens him out.

Jesus exposes and removes the doctrinal loophole the man was trying to create in order to justify his own sin.

The essence of false teaching is to justify wrong action. This has been true from the very first false teaching, “you shall not die” , which satan preached to Adam and Eve.

Anyone drawn to false teaching is drawn by his own sinful nature to it.

It can simply be a matter of the false teaching bolstering ones pride or elitist superiority, or it can be a loophole to justify any kind of sin, and still feel spiritual and blessed by God.

What is your role in the Kingdom of Heaven?

“Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

(Matthew 5:19)

So, a lot of people are going to be “the least” in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Then, the next verse qualifies whether they will be in or out.

It takes time for things to grow, it takes time for people to grow, so time is a good thing.

Some people question how forty days of rainfall can cover mountains?

a. It wasn’t just rain, it says subterranean water came up.

b. The pre-flood world was very different. There was no rain, but only dew, scripture says. So there obviously was a lot of water vapor held in the atmosphere, but it didn’t rain.

c. The earth was originally all ocean. Then God made dry land appear. Then, only part of the planet was land, and the rest ocean.

d. If the “fountains” under the earth were opened up, then that’s describing a global cataclysm. It “could” be that the modern scientific theory of an ancient super-continent, called Pangaea or Gondwana, is true, and before the flood there was one land mass, and, therefore, the flood was specifically concentrated on this land mass, and these cataclysmic events, as well as the changes in the earth’s crust by all the water coming out, were the catalyst which split this single land mass into the tectonic continental plates we know today. Geologists know that vast sections of the earth were once under water.

e. This would also explain how the animals came into the Ship, because it was a single land mass with no sea barriers, and perhaps not as big as we think.

Israel

“Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Gen 12:1-3)

At the very bare minimum, to “bless” someone means to seek their good. It doesn’t mean you approve of their faults or ignore them. It doesn’t mean you think they are perfect.

Jesus said to bless those who curse you and do not curse them. It doesn’t mean you are siding with your enemy because you bless your enemy.

So, as God hasn’t changed, if you bless natural Israel, you’ll be blessed. And God has promised to destroy every nation that comes against her.

So, to bless Israel doesn’t mean you support everything Israel does, and it certainly doesn’t mean you curse the Arabs.

It doesn’t mean you “take sides with Israel” or say you are on “their side”.

It means, when the world hates them because they are God’s chosen people, and denies their right to their God given homeland, you don’t side with their enemies.

Most of Israel is still living in darkness, but still God commands us to bless them.

Even in Old Testament times, when Israel backslid and came under God’s judgment, the Abrahamic blessing was still in effect – it has never been rescinded.

Biblically and historically, “nationhood” was defined as a specific ethnic group united by a shared language and religion. It was tribal by nature.

In this sense, you would say the Biblical nation of Israel has never ceased to be.

If, and only if, the present day enemies of Israel are able to defeat them, we wouldn’t rejoice, but we would accept God’s sovereign hand is at work.

No one rejoiced to see the Holocaust, except the totally morally reprobate, and yet God allowed it to happen.

Would you have “sided” with Israel or the Nazis?

You would have blessed Israel anyway, even if they were under God’s judgment.

At the bare minimum, you wouldn’t call the Holocaust a mere coincidence, a happenstance – something that just happened which has no spiritual meaning.

While most will agree that our relationship to God is covenantal and not contractual, the use of the word “if” attached to the promises of God all through scripture indicates a condition.

So, the Covenant can be refused, but it doesn’t make the Covenant into a contract, it acknowledges that man still has a choice in the matter of whether he will remain in the Covenant.

Hence the use of the word “if” in regard to the promises of God.

The natural mind is not able to understand the parallel truths that God is Sovereign and man still has a choice.

The natural mind will say, If God is Sovereign, then man doesn’t have a choice.

Or, If man has a choice, then God is not Sovereign.

Recently, I had a man try to explain to me, using theological jargon, that “if” doesn’t actually mean, “if”.

Of course, I have to give him the benefit of the doubt that he doesn’t know what he is saying, and that he’s not intentionally being a fraud.

Being content in Christ means we don’t use other things as a source of contentment.

Loving relationships bring contentment, but we shouldn’t use a relationship to satisfy our own contentment.

Similarly, there are so many good things in life, but we’re not to use them as our source of contentment.

And we might learn this the hard way.

Here’s a very weak analogy to explain the existence of the modern state of Israel.

Imagine the native Americans, who once owned America, had a national resurgence, became militarily powerful, and decided to take back their land from the European settlers? They could rightfully claim it’s their land by virtue of thousands of years of prior possession. But the “settlers”, which we will call “Americans”, even though there is no prior history of such a people as “Americans”, may say they have possession of the land, and even revise history to edit out the real history of the Natives. And, in the end, the Americans might say, If God is for us then He will keep us in possession of the land.

It’s a very weak analogy.

Regarding Israel, “might” will decide the final outcome.

To the Islamic mind, the Jews are occupying Islamic land, and if this is so, then, surely, Allah will eventually help them to evict them from the land Allah gave them.

The Bible indicates that in the end, though the whole world comes against them, God will defend them.

Not because they are superior people, but to keep His promise to them.

In the end, Allah won’t be able to help the whole world evict or annihilate the Jews.

A Christian leader gets caught in immorality:

Outwardly, he was an Evangelical.

Inwardly, he was a Liberal.

Its always a paradox when Liberal Christians mock an Evangelical who has a moral failure.

Why are you mocking someone who really has the same moral values as you?

“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.”

Zechariah 12:9-10

Here, God says “they will look on me whom they pierced”.

Pretty obvious who it is they pierced.

And, this Man is God, because God says they pierced Him.

So, if you don’t want God to destroy you, don’t come against the Jewish people.

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

(2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)

The subject is the coming of the Lawless one. “The lie”, referred to here, is then the lie that the Lawless one is not Lawless, but just the opposite, the Messiah, God incarnate.

Remember, the lying signs and wonders are to supposedly prove this man is from God, or is God.

He’s not just accepted because he is a good politician, very intelligent, or even a very nice person, he is accepted because of supernatural power associated with him.

It’s the perfect blend of religion and politics, and the marriage of both.

You know, over the last 2000 years Jesus has brought millions of people just like you and me to glory, and they’re with Him right now. He can bring you too, if that’s what you would like.

It’s not time yet for God to deliver Israel from its enemies and reveal Messiah to them. That time will come, but there’s a very rough ride still ahead, and the Antichrist, who will deceive many of them.

With anything we say it’s always a question of, What do we mean by that?

In our own experience we know what it is like to extend love to people who don’t want our love.

God has certainly extended His love to the whole human race through giving His Son to die for all.

So, our message should be, Christ died for you, rather than, God loves you, because it explains the nature of God’s love and avoids a misunderstanding of it whereby unrepentant people wrongly get the idea they are safe from the wrath of God.

“God loves everyone, but He doesn’t accept everyone.”

…There is a condition to being accepted by God, according to Jesus Christ, in John chapter 3.

Understanding how God loves the world and yet will condemn forever those who don’t repent:

Jesus commands us to love our enemies and do good to them, because that is how the Father is: He sends the rain on the just and the unjust, and He is not willing any perish, but that all come to repentance.

So, God’s love for the world is understood in how we are to love our enemies: not a romantic kind of love, but a desire for them to be saved.

Jesus wouldn’t ask us to love our enemies if He didn’t.

I wonder how many appreciate how great a thing salvation in Christ Jesus is?

For God to wipe out the debt we owe Him and then declare us righteous in His sight – How great is that?

For God to take a condemned sinner, then wash him clean in His own sacrificial blood, and present him faultless before His throne as a true son or daughter of God, as if he never sinned at all – How great is that?

We are thanking and praising God for good rains. We had an unusual dry spell for over 6 months and finally our spring source dried up. We were down to our last drops of rainwater and were rationing, and then the heaven-sent rain came. Also, the spring has revived, but hopefully we won’t need it over the wet season as rainwater should be ample. Thanks to those who prayed.

Many don’t know the Book of Revelation is unfolding right now. For many, it is unthinkable it could happen in their lifetime, and they assume it must always be in the distant future. And, in the past, there’s been so many false alarms about end time events and date setting for Jesus’ return that many have become jaded about the promise of His return.

If God’s will is always done anyway, why did the Lord Jesus teach us to pray, ‘Thy will be done!’ ? There would be no need to pray that.

God is Sovereign, He rules over all, and there’s a good and perfect will of God which needs to be apprehended.

Scripture records that when Jesus walked the earth very few people could see who He was. Even his own family didn’t know who He was till much later. Virtually none of the people He grew up with knew who He was. Imagine, living next door to the Son of God and not knowing it?

They didn’t see a guy with a permanent phony smile, flashing his teeth to everyone, they saw a “man of sorrows and acquainted with grief”, and yet some saw a Man, “full of grace and truth”.

So, if the majority couldn’t see who Christ was, chances are they also can’t see Christ in you today.

And yet some just might.

There are true and false tongues (speaking or praying in a language you don’t know).

Perhaps the majority are false, and yet there is still a genuine gift of tongues.

Anyway, we need to base our beliefs on scripture, not on experiences or testimonies of peoples experiences, or even what we’ve not experienced.

Because it would be wrong to believe a gift has ceased, not on scriptural evidence, but because you have never experienced it.

That would be to place experience above Gods word.

There’s a dilemma, that when we speak of Jesus and Salvation, people invariably think of “the church”, and the dilemma is that, usually, they have a false concept of what “the church” is: they might think of stained glass windows, costumes, televangelists and private jets, charlatans, popes… or bad experiences they’ve had with “Christians”. So, realize that none of that stuff has anything to do with you personally knowing Jesus Christ and being saved. It’s a smokescreen, a distraction from seeing the real Jesus, the Son of God, risen from the dead and coming back shining brighter than the sun.

A teacher could sell a book exposing false prophets and the Prosperity Gospel, and then make financial gain from that book, making them also a false prophet.
