If you’re saved it’s because Jesus saved you.

No one has ever saved himself.

…..

God is a Father to His own children – those who live in His Son, Jesus Christ.

He is the true Father, and only His true children know and understand this, with all it entails.

…..

When Jesus of Nazareth called His disciples to follow Him did they get the impression this was a means to become wealthy?

If any did have dreams that this could make them wealthy, before too long they realized that was not to be.

So… if Copeland (or suchlike) had started their “ministry” around the same as Jesus of Nazareth, then, perhaps the disciples may have been tempted to do some “church hopping” and leave Jesus ministry to join Kenneth’s, because Kenneth promised wealth, whereas Jesus didn’t?

Nothing has changed.

The choice is still there today as to whose ministry one will follow.

Jesus of Nazareth?

Or, Kenneth of Fort Worth?

Or, Joel of Houston?

…..

“Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.”

We request our Father to work His will this day because we believe He has the power and authority to work His will this day, and that He WILL work His will this day.

His will is intertwined with His Kingdom.

His Kingdom is the expression of His will.

Something is a representation of the Kingdom if it serves the purpose of the Kingdom.

…..

In the most simplistic terms, the Kingdom of God is, for the present time, the sum of what Christ is working in the hearts and lives of people worldwide. It is His Kingdom, it is the reach of His authority, touching and transforming lives in every nation, conforming them to His nature, in love, preparing them to live forever in His eternal Kingdom.

……

Democracy only has value if the majority have some fear of God, otherwise, it’s meaningless.

…..

It is satan’s job to make evil appear beautiful.

…..

How can one know Jesus Christ?

Well, where will you go to get the answer to this question? Who has the answer?

He has. Go to Him for the answer.

He said, who ever believes on Him has eternal life.

He said, He will reveal Himself to anyone who keeps His words.

“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (John 14:23)

……

When you hear someone speak God’s word be careful to pay more attention to the actual content of the message than to the personality of the one giving it.

……

For a person to live in total spiritual darkness all they need to do is keep shutting out the light of God’s word anytime it starts to shine into their gloomy world.

……

“… I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me…”

Is this also your testimony?

……

There are no great people, but the Holy Spirit can and will do great things in anyone.

The Pharmaceutical industry is certainly not interested in helping create a society which no longer buys or needs its products.

……

Over the history of science, scientists have often questioned the science. Thank God they did.

…..

How much money did Jesus need to fulfill His ministry? How did He get that money?

(Just some questions, of which the answers explain a lot to us about how we can fulfill our personal ministries, which God has given each one of us)

……

In only a matter of time every one you know will be dead, and they’ll be either in Heaven or Hell.

It may sound bleak, but it’s the truth, and we should play our God-given part in seeing that folks go to Heaven.

…..

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17)

Therefore, if the old things have not passed away, and all things have not become new, then that person is not a new creation in Christ.

And… if anyone wants to become a new creation in Christ, it follows, then, that they must want all the old things to pass away, and for everything in their life to be made new.

A new creation in Christ is, therefore, an entirely new kind of creature, a new species of being, entirely different to the creature they were before – a creature who bears the image of the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, because they have been recreated in His image.

“…And have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him…” (Col. 3:10)

“…And that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” (Eph. 4:24)

…..

Serving God is honor and reward in itself. It doesn’t look for any other reward or recompense.

…..

A lot of Christians would perhaps like to freely congregate together in their localities or towns for relational, participatory church, but they can’t agree on how it will work, or don’t believe it could work without an organizational structure. In other words, they don’t have the faith for it because it is something unknown to them in their experience.

If they agree on the purpose for gathering, which is to allow all the gifts to have a voice, to build up the body of Christ, then it “works”.

So why doesn’t it happen?

Because individuals don’t have personal practical experience in building up others with the word of God on a personal level, so they can’t do it in a gathering.

……

Worship of God, in Spirit and Truth, is, by definition, a person’s response to revelation from God. He reveals to us something of who He is, and we, either, appropriately respond to that revelation, which is to worship, or we ignore Him.

…..

Another sign of Christian maturity is to have a clearer understanding of the difference between the Holy Spirit and your spirit, and soul.

Mark 4:14-20 is the explanation of the parable of the sower.

There are four types of soil.

Only one of those soils bears lasting fruit.

At the beginning of a person’s commitment to Christ, and for quite some time, it may not be obvious which type of “soil” they are.

But time will always tell, according to this parable.

If you have doubts about which type of “soil” you are, because you struggle with besetting sin, then you’ll need to clear that matter up.

Do you want to be “good soil”?

Is that what you want with all your heart?

Then you probably are good “soil”, by the grace of God.

“Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble” (2 Peter 1:10)

The scripture is still inspired and is the seed of the Gospel, which, when sown in the right soil, bears the fruits of salvation, regardless of the authenticity of the church setting.

And yet, out of honor and respect for the Lord Jesus Christ, we should be very vocal respectfully pointing out expressions of church which misrepresent Him, and explaining how they misrepresent Him.

In the New Testament, “church” describes the body of Christ, and it is also describes the action of gathering and relating between the members of His body. The Greek word means “an assembly”. An assembly describes a company of people, as well as the act of assembling. In other words, we are the church, and therefore we assemble or “do church” together. Assembling or gathering, regardless of the number, or the time or location, is church, because that’s what church is, an assembly or gathering. The purpose and function of the gathering defines it. Just gathering doesn’t make it church.

Afghanistan

Quote

“My Christian brother and his family are hiding in Afghanistan. They take turns staying awake and praying, while others sleep, as they’re being hunted. They have no passports, no visas, and very little of what they need most of all – hope.

Time is running out. They live in fear of a single knock on their hiding place door from the Taliban. They were sharing the gospel with others. Now, they’re just trying to survive. Even that is increasingly difficult. The small population of Christians in Afghanistan is rapidly vanishing.

Some have fled to the hills, others have retreated into the shadows, turning off their phones and hunkering down in whatever undisclosed locations they can find. Some have just gone missing completely. People are going missing and getting killed every day. I’m hearing harrowing stories of desperate parents. Children are being shot and beheaded.

The Taliban are taking the kids. “If you’re hiding, and they find your family, they’ll put the word out that ‘we’ve got your brother or son or daughter.’ They’re cutting off the heads of boys that are nine and ten.”

Two little girls managed to hide after their parents were murdered, but eventually, they got so hungry that they ventured out to the market. The Taliban found them, raped them, and beat them.

The Taliban are now going door-to-door taking women and children. People must mark their house with an ‘X’ if they have a girl over 12 years old, so that the Taliban can take them. If they find a young girl and the house was not marked they will execute the entire family.

Fathers are handing guns to their wives and daughters so that they can kill themselves if the terrorists come. Even hiding is a double-edged sword. “Every day,” one Christian recently reported, “I receive a phone call from a private number. A soldier warns me that if he sees me again, he’ll behead me.” The Taliban are tracking them, stalking them, warning them they know where they are.

Many believers have simply gone completely dark. My Christian brother hiding in Afghanistan is risking his life to communicate with me, as he huddles with his family in an undisclosed location, listening to the manhunt outside. But he’s running out of options. He knows the Taliban are killing the Christians to spread fear.

Christians hiding in Afghanistan are wondering if this night will be their last. My friend and his family are not afraid to die. Like many there, they are more afraid the world will forget them. “Pray for us,” he asked. “Pray that the Lord will put his angels around us.” “

The skill or art of Christian dialogue is to speak with grace, while not dancing around the truth.

What’s the point of speaking graciously if what you’re saying is false or dishonest?

That would be deceptive, smooth talking.

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.” (1 John 5:13)

John doesn’t tell people they have eternal life just because they identify as Christian. He is not giving his assurance to people who might not have assurance (As is so common today. Many are trying to reassure those who have no assurance).

What he does do, however, is give them the tools, the right questions to ask themselves, so each person can determine, themselves, whether they have eternal life.

There’s a set of questions we are to ask ourselves – a test.

Only if those questions are truthfully answered in the affirmative can we be sure we have eternal life.

For example:

“We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.” (1 John 3:14)

…..

Sometimes we comment on topical issues simply because we have a sense of justice, and that sense comes from God.

…..

What is eternal life like?

“And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” (Rev. 21:3-5)

In Christ’s eternal Kingdom there will be no crying, sorrow, pain or death because the CAUSE of these things will no longer exist – sin will no longer exist.

Scripture describes the ultimate utopian society, in the Kingdom of Christ.

It will be a society just as real as the present one, in a physical landscape, with real houses, real jobs to do, real friends.. life goes on.. FOREVER.

And yet everyone you meet in this society knows you and loves you. And you will know and love them.

An unkind word is never again heard, for all eternity.

For all eternity you will not encounter even one prideful or selfish person.

Such things will be ancient history.

Their memory only existing because the memory of Calvary will never be erased, for all eternity.

Christ Jesus, the King, will bear the scars for eternity, and this reminder will forever be before our eyes.

The ministry was fluid, based on whom He was meeting, encountering and dialoging with at the time.

But it wasn’t confusion. The Holy Spirit orchestrated everything, even though nothing was planned like a human program.

Now, since we had nothing to do with our existence in the first place, doesn’t it seem fair and reasonable to cheerfully acknowledge and yield to God’s claim on your life?

In this light, how could His claim be unreasonable?

Christians believe their existence is God’s idea, before and above it being the idea of their parents.

The fact that Jesus Christ promised eternal life for His disciples should settle any questions one has about their existence.

You’re here, and you can have eternal life.

Our bodies belong to God and not to us. We are stewards or caretakers of His property.

Everything of which our life consists was bought at a price: the redeeming death of God’s Son on the Cross.

What do you do with this statement:

“God told me to tell you!”

??

The issue is, it is for the hearers to rightly discern by the word of God whether any message is from God.

At all times we need to discern whether God is speaking to us or whether its merely a message from man.

So, adding “God told me” , apart from being narcissistic, it discourages people from discerning, it’s as though they would be guilty if they did indeed test the message, because if God was speaking, how dare we question God?

So, it’s very manipulative.

So, encountering narcissism, manipulation, self glorifying, merchandizing… etc.. are all signs it is cultic.

Christian, how much has God, in His Son, forgiven you?

Can you estimate the magnitude of that forgiveness, personally, for you?

You might, to some degree, be aware that, all your life, you broke the commands of God and tread His laws contemptuously and defiantly under your feet.

Okay, with that degree of awareness, can you comprehend the magnitude of such forgiveness required to forgive such an exhaustive list of offenses and transgressions against God?

God’s forgiveness would be useless if it were in part. A partly forgiven person is no better off than the one who has found no forgiveness.

The only basis by which God can forgive our sins is that His Son, Jesus Christ, bore the penalty of those sins, which was death in our place, washing us from our sins in His own blood, the just for the unjust.

Therefore, as Christ’s work on the Cross is perfect and was accomplished in full, God’s forgiveness is perfect and in full. It can never be dispensed in measures, only in full.

“Blessed is the man to whom God will not impute sin.”

So, are you forgiven?

Or are you still guilty?

Why does so much modern “worship” have an emphasis on creating an emotional state through cheesy, emotional, repetitive tunes?

Its designed to touch the emotions of the “worshiper”.

It’s great to get emotional about God, but not because you were manipulated into feeling a certain way by overtly emotional tunes.

It’s like a drug for people.

The truth makes me emotional, or stirs my deepest being.

Cheesy, pathetically bad music does not.

Actually…

The philosophy behind it is that cheesy songs attract Gods presence.

If you play the cheesy music, He will come.

Then… they interpret the manipulation of their emotions to mean that God’s presence has come into the building.

Then they are trapped on a treadmill.

They have to perform the ritual every time to get Him to come.

But the Gospel is the opposite.

The Gospel is Christ in you, 24/7.

“But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.” (Acts 9:15)

It truly sounds like God had a plan preprepared for Paul. A very precise plan. You just can’t walk in before kings and preach to them, but, if it’s God’s plan, yes, you can, and Paul did. And his sufferings, also, were integral to fulfilling that divine plan.

Paul also said that he must be obedient to the heavenly calling and be diligent to walk along that planned route, preplanned by God.

Do we follow anything we can imagine we want to do?

Or are we aware, like Paul, that God has already planned our route and we should seek His plan?

Quite a number of Christians are in survival mode, rather than being focused on fulfilling and finishing their ministry.

If we are about the Father’s business we need not be concerned about our survival.

This is what Jesus taught. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you”.

The early church was not survival focused, but focused on doing the will of the Father.

Refer to Matthew 25:24-30.

…..

Bible believers already know what will happen in the future, but they don’t know the timings of the prophetic events foretold in Scripture, so this is the tension: they know what will happen, but not when it happens, therefore, they keep pushing ahead by faith, resting in the knowledge that the times and seasons are in the Father’s hand.

And we need to understand it’s always been this way.

If you are truly born again, then the same Holy Spirit which descended onto the Son of God at His baptism, and the same Spirit which descended upon the disciples on the Day of Pentecost, and who dwelt in the Apostles and Prophets and all who live godly in Christ Jesus ever since, dwells in you.

The same Spirit which inspired the scriptures.

The same Spirit which blooded over the waters when the earth was created.

The same Spirit which raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

There has always been immorality, but in times past it had shame attached to it and it was socially unacceptable. A note on Covetousness:

To covet wealth is to compromise and distort the truth of the Fatherhood of God, and our sonship.

Why wasn’t Jesus covetous?

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”” (Hebrews 13:5)

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”

Wouldn’t we want our faith to be as real as the Lord is?

……

Jesus came on the scene and announced, to a stunned audience, that God was His Father.

And then He said that if we believe on God’s Son we can also call God, our Father.

When God made mankind in His image He was taking on the role of Fatherhood.

He was already the Father to the Son from eternity.

Now, He was Father to creatures which He made, but special creatures because they bear the image of God, so He could call them His children.

And, then, the Son even came down from Heaven and became a Man.

So, God the Son became one of us, yet still remaining God.

He could become one of us because we bear the image of God.

Now, we are not to think of ourselves as children of the Father merely because we are creations of God.

This is because our sin cut us off from God.

But Jesus, the Son, reconciled us to the Father by suffering, shedding His blood, dying and rising again.

So, now we who believe are true children of the Father by virtue of being in the Son.

We are now sons if we are in the Son.

“By grace you are saved, through faith in Jesus Christ.”

This means, if you are saved it’s because Jesus Christ saved you.

Believing is sufficient because Jesus Christ is sufficient.

That is, if we truly believe He is sufficient to save us. For only then do we truly believe.

“You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!” (James 2:19)

James is addressing superficial belief.

James is not suggesting that demons have true faith.

Whereas when the Lord Jesus promised that those who believe in Him have eternal life, He obviously meant TRUE FAITH, and not superficial believism.

True faith always produces a holy life.

Truly believing, as in the sense that the Lord Jesus used the word “believe”, such as, “whoever believes on me has eternal life”… in this sense, believing precedes doing the will of the Father. A person has no chance to do the will of the Father unless they first believe.

Believing is the CAUSE.

Doing God’s will is the EFFECT.

Cause and effect.

Refer to Romans 4.
