What an incredible privilege that we can live with Him forever.

…..

Whatever your problem or difficulty, the Lord is the answer.

Whatever your sin, the Lord is the answer.

……

We are your people forever, Lord.

……

You can’t help God out, but you can be His instrument.

……

Conformity to Christ is the conformity we need.

…..

“…How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?” (Heb. 2:3a)

Salvation is great:

  • Great was the cost of Calvary to Christ and the Father.
  • Great was Christ’s suffering to accomplish our salvation.
  • Great was the transaction within the Godhead to reconcile man.
  • Great is the One who died for sinners.
  • Great was the Incarnation, which was necessary to accomplish our salvation.
  • Great is the love and mercy which saved us.
  • Great glory to God for saving sinners and transforming them into the image of His Son, for salvation is His work.
  • Great is the sin we are saved from.
  • Great is the punishment we are saved from.
  • Great and eternal benefit for those who are saved.
  • Great is the transformation from sinner to new creation in Christ.
  • Great in its magnitude and reach: a great multitude is saved.

“Saved” is a great truth and a great proclamation for those who know they are saved.

It seems surreal for many today to hear about being “saved”.

But if you are indeed saved, there’s nothing surreal or unreal about it.

I once was lost, but now am found.

“…You turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.” (1 Thess. 1:9b-10)

…….

Someone says, “Only Jesus can judge me, because He alone is perfect!”.

Jesus said: “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him— the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.” (John 12:48)

So, those who reject His words will be judged by those same words they reject.

So, whenever anyone hears God’s word, it is life to them now, if they believe it, or, judgment to them later, if they don’t believe it.

And, telling people what Jesus said is the same as Jesus telling them, and it is Jesus telling them, by His Spirit.

He said, ‘Go in my name’, which means, ‘Tell them what I said, give them my teaching’.

……

Do you have an alternative to living by faith?

…..

What is the “spirit of antichrist”, “antichrists” and “the antichrist”?

Two elements: It opposes the real Christ, the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible, AND it does this by substituting the real Jesus for a fake Jesus, a counterfeit.

Fake concepts of who Jesus is do not represent Him, they are substitutes for Him.

A fake “gospel” message represents a fake Christ.

You have to know whether the “Jesus” that is presented actually exists, and is not a different kind of “Jesus” than the one described in the Bible.

You will have to spend much time in the Gospels and the whole Bible to know how to tell the difference between the real Jesus, the real Gospel message, and a counterfeit.

……

The false christs (which Jesus said would come) don’t necessarily call themselves Jesus or the Messiah, but they take the place the real Lord Jesus should have in people’s lives.

……

What if you had the power to make people believe stupid things are cool?

This is how the world works.

Follow Jesus. Be His disciple. Keep His word.

How is this complicated?

It’s only complicated if one doesn’t want to do it.

….

God didn’t create the human race because He needed to or was lonely. He was getting on fine without us.

God has always existed.

Mankind is a recent creation – newly arrived on the scene.

…..

If you trust the Lord, He knows that you do.

…..

God’s blessing is automatic on any stance which honors Him.

…..

If you don’t like sin, know that God REALLY doesn’t like it.

……

Is Jesus easy to please?

He is certainly easy to displease.

But who is conscious of whether their thoughts, words and actions are a delight to Him?

His love toward us never wavers, yet we have the capacity to grieve Him.

Live in what is well pleasing to Him.

…..

It’s impossible for Jesus to fail the one who has put their trust in Him.

……

Captain Kirk got the ride of a lifetime last week, and yet the Bible says that all who love Jesus will get a much better ride, as they are caught up into the air to meet Him at His coming, so it’s kind of like a rocket trip but without the rocket. It’s real, and it’s true. Heaven is better than science fiction because it’s real.

…..

“God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.”

(Acts 17:24-25)

God giving you every breath you take should not be filed under the heading of ‘religion’. It’s a little closer to home than that.

…..

Look around you. All the people you see will soon pass over into eternity, and be either in Heaven or Hell, forever.

……

No, we can’t change the world, but we can change our own life, and, in doing so, our small corner of the world has been changed.

…..

In true Christianity, in a multicultural setting, living at peace with non-Christians has nothing to do with accepting or condoning their beliefs, because, if you did so, you wouldn’t be a true Christian.

…..

If parental rights keep being eroded then it will come to the point where the children of Christians will be taken from them because of their beliefs. This is the path Joe wants to take you down, as well as other western leaders.

……

Iran has it’s Religious Police.

And you will have your friendly local ‘Thought Police’ knocking on your door in the middle of the night checking whether your social media comments are compliant with the state.

In Christ, God imputes His perfect righteousness to us, and, on this basis, and with this knowledge, that God counts us as perfectly righteous in His sight because of Christ, we are to do what is right, good and pleasing in His sight.

……

Salvation was and is entirely God’s idea and plan.

It did not originate with man, even though man has made his own futile schemes to try and attain salvation.

What do you think?

God has offered salvation to YOU, in Jesus Christ, His Son, so you would be wise to accept the offer.

……

The devil can energize people to pursue their dreams, but, in the end, leave them washed up when they realize it was just a dream they were chasing.

Was wondering this morning if Wuhan is making any new viruses, then later saw a news report that it is.

……

We believe Jesus Christ, therefore we’re full of hope.

…..

“…And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.” (Rev. 21:21b)

Kind of symbolically significant that gold is finally under our feet.

And, if, while walking down this golden street, you happen to see your reflection, will you recognize yourself?

Because you’re going to be a glorious person, who looks something like the glorious Son of God, Jesus Christ.

“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” (1 John 3:2)

……

Today, if you’ve beheld the LORD on His Throne and worshipped Him, think of His rightful claim on your life.

……

Everything which exists had to be conceptualized, designed and engineered.

There also had to be a reason and purpose for it to be created.

Have a look around you.

…..

In these last days, spiritual survival is more important than physical survival.

……

One of the great paradoxes of life is that a person can be highly intelligent, and yet lose their own soul. Or, achieve great things, and yet lose their own soul. Or, amass wealth and popularity, and yet lose their own soul. According to Jesus.

……

If you are a servant of God, what does that relationship look like?

And if you’re not a servant of God, why aren’t you?

……

Trust Him, because He loves you.

Love Him, because He loves you.

Obey Him, because He loves you.

…..

Huge asteroids frequently whiz by our planet. So many near misses. Of course, it could never happen, right!? Maybe God deflects them? What if God decides not to deflect one?

……

Bible prophecy is indeed a “doomsday” message for those who don’t follow the only Lord and Savior there is, Jesus Christ, for they are indeed doomed unless they repent.

……

Don’t let another sinner cause you to sin.

……

We always pray according to the purpose of our life. If our purpose is the Kingdom of God, then we pray accordingly. Or, if our purpose is our own kingdom and glory, then we pray accordingly.

So, we just need to know what the purpose of our life really should be, and pray and act accordingly.

The reason and purpose we are here on earth should define our approach to prayer.

…..

What we do with our time constitutes our life… …and it’s over in no time.

…..

Teaching: explain and apply scripture.

No need, necessarily, to refer to theological paradigms or vocabulary which didn’t exist when the scriptures were written.

They have to see it in the word of God. If they are taught by God, they will.

…..

Even the one who has the outward appearance of being the most saintly person on earth has repeatedly broken God’s moral law: both in the letter of the law, and in the spirit and intent of the law: that we should love God with all our heart, and our neighbor as ourself. And therefore they will be judged by the law, unless they have fled to Christ for refuge, and He is their Advocate and Savior.

……

This pandemic has demonstrated that the fear of death is still a dominant trait in the human psyche, and governments can cash in on it, as religions have done in the past.

…..

We pray daily, “…Thy will be done!”

That’s pretty exciting, to see Him work His will.

……

“Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.” (1 Peter 4:19)

God’s faithfulness is never in question.

Can you commit your soul to the One who created you, knowing He loves you as only your Creator can?

……

Our identity should be in Christ: dead to sin, and risen with Him (Rom. 6:1-8) so, therefore, is it valid to have two identities: one, in Christ, as well as keeping your own separate identity?

Identity is who you are, and who you are defines everything else in your life.

……

The love of God is a good meditation, and an endless one.

…..

No true Christian has to tolerate being oppressed by evil spirits.

……

Language has become much cruder over the course of this generation. Fifty years ago cussing and expletives were quite different to now. The quest was to become as vulgar and offensive as possible. You want others to identify with you in your sin, a kind of perverse fellowship.

But surely it must plateau off at some point, when all the vulgar words are so common that no one thinks them vulgar anymore, and it gets harder to offend anyone, and this futile quest begins to be seen as the idiotic exercise it is.

The Rock of the Church

“He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

(Matthew 16:15-18)

Peter is not the rock on which Jesus will build His church.

It is the action of the Father revealing to men who Jesus is which is the rock or foundation on which Jesus builds His church.

When the Father reveals His Son to people then that is Jesus building His church.

It shows that church can only be based on a shared revelation of Christ and nothing else. Culture, tradition, social class, economic class, ethnicity, language, shared interests, favorite doctrines, theological specialty, etc. are no basis for a church. Such would be a man made church.

For a church to be birthed and sustained and mature it can only be because it is firmly fixed on the revelation of who Jesus is. This is the vision. It is Him.

Therefore, the revelation of who Jesus is should be the central part of any church: the focus in teaching, in preaching the gospel, in praying for folks.

And the gates of Hell cannot prevail against such a church.

“…Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:20a)

……

No one can save their own soul. They have to look to the Lord Jesus to save it.

……

It’s quite normal for those with eternal life to think often about eternity.

……

Spending time alone with God should be our first priority in life – the most important thing we do with our time – the greatest experience of our life, and the source of our power and joy.

……

If we’re faithful in prayer, we’ll be faithful in all else.

…..

Sanctification

“They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” (John 17:16-17)

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:15-17)

Jesus is not of this world, He is of another world. His nature is different to the nature of fallen mankind, He is holy.

His people, likewise, belong to Heaven, not to this world. God has made them holy by the Blood of the Lamb, and God is making them holy in all their thoughts, words and deeds.

These principles and characteristics of the world are not to be found in a disciple of Jesus of Nazareth, because they are not found in Him.

Sanctification is the daily work of the Holy Spirit, by the word of God, separating us from the things of the world, and uniting and establishing us, instead, in the things of the Kingdom of Heaven, the things which conform to nature of the holy Son of God.

…..

Everything has its proper place, except for those things which should have no place.

…..

The Arts might have meaning in relation to the human experience, but rarely have meaning in relation to God, though often hostile to Him.

I have always liked Bob Dylan’s work.

It has meaning in terms of the human experience.

The artistic quality is amazing.

But in relation to God it has no meaning, except for some of His gospel songs.

……

The Christian religion can’t give eternal life, but Jesus Christ can and does.

……

A true Christian is never running out of time because they have eternal life.

……

People are either seeking God or trying to avoid Him.

Any unbeliever who was genuinely seeking God would have found Him.

God has never failed to reveal Himself to any genuine seeker.

Religious devotion or spiritual fascination is not the same as genuinely seeking God.

…..

Learn to trust Him more.

…..

How can a person say they believe in Jesus but not believe what He said?

……

Patience is always more fruitful than impatience.

……

The Bible says, the fear of the Lord is the BEGINNING of wisdom. This means it is the gateway to the love of God and the glories of Christ’s Kingdom. If someone doesn’t fear the Lord it means they think they can sin against God and get away with it, or they pretend that sin is not sin at all. Either way, they are openly defying God. Therefore they are fools and don’t have the fear of God, and therefore can’t begin to understand the amazing love of Christ.

……

The church is a people, not an organization, and these people are supposed to be the expression of the Kingdom of God on earth. That is, how these people live, function, represent the Lord, proclaim His word, and relate to one another is how the Kingdom is expressed in the world.

“…That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17:21)

……

If God the Holy Spirit is living in your body then why can’t you have revival right now?

……

If someone could see into Heaven, and also into the fire of Hell, surely they would then understand what salvation means, as in what is at stake for them personally? That is, if they had thought salvation is merely some religious concept.

……

Without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Ref. Heb. 12:14)

If we are not holy, we won’t be seeing the Lord.

Salvation is a gift, it is not earned, however, even if a person says they believe they are saved by grace, through faith, yet, without holiness they won’t be seeing the Lord.

……

After you’ve been reconciled to God by faith in Jesus Christ, you can talk to God and He listens. It’s so wonderful. Fellowship with God is the greatest thing, because it’s what He created us for.

……

“Salvation is not making a good person better. It is making a dead person alive in Christ.” unquote

…..

Can a person self analyze and know how much faith in God they have?

See:

Mark 11:22-24

James 1:6-8

1 John 3:18-23

…..

Jesus created the universe, and yet still people don’t accept Him, so it’s not such a big deal if people don’t accept you.

G3

October 8, 2021

Seeing on social media there’s been a big evangelical conference this last week called, G3. It appears to represent the “non-charismatic”, or even “anti-charismatic”, sector of the body of Christ.

These people are rightly against the false “prosperity gospel”, yet the emphasis on merchandising, and the huge amounts these people are making from selling their message, seem to stand as a contradiction and as hypocrisy. There is big money in refuting the “prosperity gospel”.

Now, why can’t we be against the “prosperity gospel ” and the “fake prophetic”, and yet still have supernatural gifts of the Spirit, and also honor the Lord by not selling His message for profit?

And as well, return to the Biblical pattern of church?

Let’s be honest, where in evangelicalism today can we see anything resembling the New Testament church?

Is this too much to ask?

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high…” (Hebrews 1:1-3)

How does one know that God has spoken to us by His Son?

Because, “it is written” here in scripture that this is so.

Jesus is the final word from God.

And God has preserved His words so that we can know this by an objective means, and no longer be at the mercy of the subjective opinions of man.

Therefore, scripture is the final word on who Jesus is, and He is the word of God, which means the revelation of God, and the sole source of God’s authority.

We cannot divorce what God has said from who He is.

Therefore, one’s attitude to scripture reflects one’s attitude to God.

Freedom truly only has meaning in relation to God, because everything derives its true meaning in relation to God.

Therefore, those estranged from God will have a false understanding of freedom: they will be deceived into thinking freedom means to be free from God.

No one knows the long term effects of mRNA. It is still under trial. There may not be significant long term health risks, and yet there could be, time will tell. A little piece of meat

October 2, 2021

The thinking process is, in itself, a great wonder. The fact that a little piece of meat can, within itself, contain great thoughts, dreams and concepts, and contain a conscience and a moral compass, is a miraculous phenomenon, and another evidence of a wonderful Creator. An amazing piece of meat.
