The word of God cannot be improved upon, so why look to certain people as if they have a better message than the message you read in your Bible?

There is only God’s word.

People are looking for teachers, but they already have God’s word in their hands.

They already have the message right before their eyes.

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” (2 Tim. 4:3-4)

Teachers of the word are vitally important.

It is the searching for teachers to interpret the Bible the way you want it interpreted which is the problem we are warned of here in scripture.

It is the dependence on men to interpret scripture for you which indicates one is not taught by the Holy Spirit.

It’s not about who is right, it’s about whether the Bible, and the Jesus of the Bible, is right.

Is Jesus Christ giving you the victory over the present culture?

A true Christian believes Jesus Christ is completely trustworthy, therefore they don’t doubt His promises.

Doubting His promises means to doubt Him, which is to judge Him.

People try to “improve” the Gospel by making it more acceptable and appealing to fallen human nature by leaving out the part about us repenting of our sinful life.

Where there is moral decline what happens if the downward trend is not reversed?

How low can people go?

Does it level off eventually? Is there a moral rock bottom where people can’t get any more depraved than they are?

Look at history. Societies always end up being wiped out before they plumb the absolute depths of moral depravity.

See Hebrews verses 9:9 & 9:14, and note the use of the word “conscience” in both cases, and consider the application concerning the present state of your own conscience.

For the true Christian, the One who is with you, teaches and helps you, is the infinite, omnipotent and eternal One. The One who hears your prayer and who teaches you, and whom you call, Father, is the everlasting, infinite, almighty God.

How we respond to His word is the main indicator of our love for Him.

Jesus said, if we love Him we will keep His commands.

Therefore, much of the modern church “love” is quite phony.

At the very least, 134 million books have been published to date.

Untold billions of books have been printed.

That’s a lot of words. A lot of thoughts and opinions.

And all these words will pass away and be forgotten, forever.

All these authors will be forgotten. All their ideas, philosophies and concepts will be forgotten forever. Gone. They will not be remembered in the Kingdom of Christ.

But the word of God endures forever.

Over 5 billion copies of the Bible have been printed.

The printing press was invented for the purpose of printing the Bible.

Will it be violent, killer regimes, who want to rule the world, which determine the future of this planet?

Someone asked, is the title of “Senior Pastor” right or wrong?

More important than the technical detail of having a title or position in a church is what people understand “senior pastor” or “pastor” means? Is their understanding Biblical, or based on church tradition?

If they think a man dubbed “the pastor” is the sole spiritual head or authority over a congregation, then that’s unbiblical and anti-biblical.

Who makes you a “senior pastor”? Do you appoint yourself as one? Or, who appoints you?

Then, if someone else appoints you, who appointed them to have the authority to appoint you?

In the letters to Titus and Timothy we see Apostolic “ordination” of plural elders in each church.

As the men had to be already teaching the body of Christ before being recognized as an elder/pastor/overseer, then, it’s not so much an “appointment to a position”, but rather the RECOGNITION of the gift of God which is already functioning without recognition.

In this way, yes, let’s recognize those who are teaching God’s word without seeking recognition, title, or recompense.

“Seek my face!

Thy face Lord will I seek”

Please define what it means to “seek the face of the LORD”.

What is the significance of “face”?

It’s not easy to put into words.

I guess it means, not to visualize in your mind what His face looks like, but to seek to know Him by contemplating His nature and attributes, as per scripture, with the desire to know Him better, and to know His will better, and to be more attentive to hear His voice.

Seeking His face suggests much more than seeking His help, aid, healing or material blessings, though, those things may happen as a result.

It is to seek first His Kingdom and righteousness before anything else and above all else.

The Bible says Jesus Christ will judge the world on Judgment Day. This world is condemned, but there is no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who follow Him. Those who do the things Jesus Christ condemns are, understandably, under His condemnation, and they can know this simply by opening a Bible and reading it. And they can also understand the Good News, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

But know that this world is condemned, and please escape being condemned along with it. You’re living in a condemned world which has no future. Sin has no future. The only real future you can have is in Christ.

One of the characteristics of man-made ministries, churches and movements is that frauds can prosper, whereas, in the NT pattern, frauds are exposed quickly, and the reason for this is that it is RELATIONAL, whereas man-made things are not.

When we read the Book of Acts we see that being filled with the Holy Spirit meant something which is rarely known or experienced today.

The preeminence of Jesus Christ in all things:

• He is the central subject, at the center of everything
• Everything derives its meaning in relation to Him
• His teaching has the preeminence to all other teaching
• He is the author, life and power of it, and He leads and guides

He already has the preeminence, so we should give Him the preeminence in all things.

Salvation is great:

• Great was the cost of Calvary to Christ and the Father.
• Great was Christ’s suffering to accomplish our salvation.
• Great was the transaction within the Godhead to reconcile man.
• Great is the One who died for sinners.
• Great was the Incarnation, which was necessary to accomplish our salvation.
• Great is the love and mercy which saved us.
• Great glory to God for saving sinners and transforming them into the image of His Son, for salvation is His work.
• Great is the sin we are saved from.
• Great is the punishment we are saved from.
• Great and eternal benefit for those who are saved.
• Great is the transformation from sinner to new creation in Christ.
• Great in its magnitude and reach: a great multitude is saved.

“Saved” is a great truth and a great proclamation for those who know they are saved.

It seems surreal for many today to hear about being “saved”.

But if you are indeed saved, there’s nothing surreal or unreal about it.

I once was lost, but now am found.

“…You turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.” (1 Thess. 1:9b-10)

Someone says, “Only Jesus can judge me, because He alone is perfect!”.

Jesus said: “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him— the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.” (John 12:48)

So, those who reject His words will be judged by those same words they reject.

So, whenever anyone hears God’s word, it is life to them now, if they believe it, or, judgment to them later, if they don’t believe it.

And, telling people what Jesus said is the same as Jesus telling them, and it is Jesus telling them, by His Spirit.

He said, ‘Go in my name’, which means, ‘Tell them what I said, give them my teaching’.

What is the “spirit of antichrist”, “antichrists” and “the antichrist”?

Two elements: It opposes the real Christ, the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible, AND it does this by substituting the real Jesus for a fake Jesus, a counterfeit.

Fake concepts of who Jesus is do not represent Him, they are substitutes for Him.

A fake “gospel” message represents a fake Christ.

You have to know whether the “Jesus” that is presented actually exists, and is not a different kind of “Jesus” than the one described in the Bible.

You will have to spend much time in the Gospels and the whole Bible to know how to tell the difference between the real Jesus, the real Gospel message, and a counterfeit.

The false christs (which Jesus said would come) don’t necessarily call themselves Jesus or the Messiah, but they take the place the real Lord Jesus should have in people’s lives.

Our identity should be in Christ: dead to sin, and risen with Him (Rom. 6:1-8) so, therefore, is it valid to have two identities: one, in Christ, as well as keeping your own separate identity?

Identity is who you are, and who you are defines everything else in your life.

No true Christian has to tolerate being oppressed by evil spirits.

Language has become much cruder over the course of this generation. Fifty years ago cussing and expletives were quite different to now. The quest was to become as vulgar and offensive as possible. You want others to identify with you in your sin, a kind of perverse fellowship.

But surely it must plateau off at some point, when all the vulgar words are so common that no one thinks them vulgar anymore, and it gets harder to offend anyone, and this futile quest begins to be seen as the idiotic exercise it is.

The Rock of the Church

“He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

(Matthew 16:15-18)

Peter is not the rock on which Jesus will build His church.

It is the action of the Father revealing to men who Jesus is which is the rock or foundation on which Jesus builds His church.

When the Father reveals His Son to people then that is Jesus building His church.

It shows that church can only be based on a shared revelation of Christ and nothing else. Culture, tradition, social class, economic class, ethnicity, language, shared interests, favorite doctrines, theological specialty, etc. are no basis for a church. Such would be a man made church.

For a church to be birthed and sustained and mature it can only be because it is firmly fixed on the revelation of who Jesus is. This is the vision. It is Him.

Therefore, the revelation of who Jesus is should be the central part of any church: the focus in teaching, in preaching the gospel, in praying for folks.

And the gates of Hell cannot prevail against such a church.

“…Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:20a)

No one can save their own soul. They have to look to the Lord Jesus to save it.

It’s quite normal for those with eternal life to think often about eternity.

Spending time alone with God should be our first priority in life – the most important thing we do with our time – the greatest experience of our life, and the source of our power and joy.

If we’re faithful in prayer, we’ll be faithful in all else.

Sanctification

“They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” (John 17:16-17)

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1 John 2:15-17)

Jesus is not of this world, He is of another world. His nature is different to the nature of fallen mankind, He is holy.

His people, likewise, belong to Heaven, not to this world. God has made them holy by the Blood of the Lamb, and God is making them holy in all their thoughts, words and deeds.

These principles and characteristics of the world are not to be found in a disciple of Jesus of Nazareth, because they are not found in Him.

Sanctification is the daily work of the Holy Spirit, by the word of God, separating us from the things of the world, and uniting and establishing us, instead, in the things of the Kingdom of Heaven, the things which conform to nature of the holy Son of God.

Everything has its proper place, except for those things which should have no place.

The Arts might have meaning in relation to the human experience, but rarely have meaning in relation to God, though often hostile to Him.

I have always liked Bob Dylan’s work.

It has meaning in terms of the human experience.

The artistic quality is amazing.

But in relation to God it has no meaning, except for some of His gospel songs.

The Christian religion can’t give eternal life, but Jesus Christ can and does.

A true Christian is never running out of time because they have eternal life.

People are either seeking God or trying to avoid Him.

Any unbeliever who was genuinely seeking God would have found Him.

God has never failed to reveal Himself to any genuine seeker.

Religious devotion or spiritual fascination is not the same as genuinely seeking God.

How can a person say they believe in Jesus but not believe what He said?

Patience is always more fruitful than impatience.

The Bible says, the fear of the Lord is the BEGINNING of wisdom. This means it is the gateway to the love of God and the glories of Christ’s Kingdom. If someone doesn’t fear the Lord it means they think they can sin against God and get away with it, or they pretend that sin is not sin at all. Either way, they are openly defying God. Therefore they are fools and don’t have the fear of God, and therefore can’t begin to understand the amazing love of Christ.

The church is a people, not an organization, and these people are supposed to be the expression of the Kingdom of God on earth. That is, how these people live, function, represent the Lord, proclaim His word, and relate to one another is how the Kingdom is expressed in the world.

“…That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17:21)

If God the Holy Spirit is living in your body then why can’t you have revival right now?

If someone could see into Heaven, and also into the fire of Hell, surely they would then understand what salvation means, as in what is at stake for them personally? That is, if they had thought salvation is merely some religious concept.

Without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Ref. Heb. 12:14)

If we are not holy, we won’t be seeing the Lord.

Salvation is a gift, it is not earned, however, even if a person says they believe they are saved by grace, through faith, yet, without holiness they won’t be seeing the Lord.

After you’ve been reconciled to God by faith in Jesus Christ, you can talk to God and He listens. It’s so wonderful. Fellowship with God is the greatest thing, because it’s what He created us for.

Jesus created the universe, and yet still people don’t accept Him, so it’s not such a big deal if people don’t accept you.

Seeing on social media there’s been a big evangelical conference this last week called, G3. It appears to represent the “non-charismatic”, or even “anti-charismatic”, sector of the body of Christ.

These people are rightly against the false “prosperity gospel”, yet the emphasis on merchandising, and the huge amounts these people are making from selling their message, seem to stand as a contradiction and as hypocrisy. There is big money in refuting the “prosperity gospel”.

How does one know that God has spoken to us by His Son?

Because, “it is written” here in scripture that this is so.

Jesus is the final word from God.

And God has preserved His words so that we can know this by an objective means, and no longer be at the mercy of the subjective opinions of man.

Therefore, scripture is the final word on who Jesus is, and He is the word of God, which means the revelation of God, and the sole source of God’s authority.

Therefore, one’s attitude to scripture reflects one’s attitude to God.

Freedom truly only has meaning in relation to God, because everything derives its true meaning in relation to God.

Therefore, those estranged from God will have a false understanding of freedom: they will be deceived into thinking freedom means to be free from God.

Whereas, true freedom is to be set free from anything which hinders you obeying, glorifying and bringing pleasure to God.

No one knows the long term effects of mRNA. It is still under trial. There may not be significant long term health risks, and yet there could be, time will tell.
