Answer: No one “owns” them as “property” (like people used to own slaves) but God has made parents responsible to raise their children right. If you bring children into this world you are responsible to teach them.

Practical action does not contradict faith. If I look before crossing the road it does not mean I lack faith or am afraid of cars. If I take medicine or see a doctor it doesn’t mean I don’t have faith for God to heal me.

And as well, true faith is never about a contrived demonstration to prove to others, God or yourself that you have faith.

“Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.” (Rom. 14:22)

For example, some might refrain from being vaccinated to try and demonstrate that they are not afraid of Covid, or that they don’t put their faith in a vaccine, or even that they are not under the control of the government.

For me, I don’t take the vaccine due to it still being under testing, and I have scientific doubts about it’s long term safety.

Another example is of Christians refraining from voting because they feel they would be then putting their faith in the government and not God.

Again, it’s a faulty understanding and application of faith.

My point being that if we have true faith in God we don’t need to try and prove anything to others or to God, or to try and convince them of our faith.

In past years I’ve had young believers confide with me that they feel guilty having money in the bank because they fear that God will see that money and consider them as putting their trust in money and not in God.

Another issue in the last days is that of preparing for the times of trouble prophesied in the Bible by storing food or becoming self sufficient. Some are scared of making preparations because they think God will somehow look at them and consider they don’t have faith that God will provide.

But this is a very fickle, tenuous kind of faith, where you can’t take any practical steps without a fear of doing it out of fear and not faith.

This tells us that the exact dates for the events prophesied in the Bible have been set by God.

This means they will happen on those preset dates whether anyone likes it or not, or believes it, or doesn’t believe it.

What anyone thinks about it will have no effect whatsoever on the passage of these events at the precise time set by God.
