When Jesus came on the scene the people were confronted by His miracles.

Something undeniably supernatural was happening before their eyes.

What does supernatural mean? What are the implications for our being if there is more to reality than the physical universe?

His opponents attributed these miracles to the devil.

They couldn’t deny something supernatural was taking place. They couldn’t accuse Jesus of tricking people into believing that miracles were taking place.

It was more convenient for them to attribute these miracles to the devil than admit it was God vindicating Jesus as His Son.

Being confronted and even scandalized by the undeniable reality of the supernatural in Jesus’ life meant they were confronted by Him, and confronted by His message, and confronted by God, Himself.

All they had to do was accept Him for who He claimed to be, the Son of the Living God.

Over to you now.

……

God didn’t abandon the human race to their own superstitions and imaginings.

He sent His Son into this world.

….

How can you know God if you’re against Him?

……

God’s word reveals God.

…..

Stand in wonder at all the works of God.

…..

Do you have a conscience?

What exactly is it?

How does it work?

…..

“Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10)

Make the angels happy today.

It just shows you that nothing can really be done in secret.

…..

Over the last 500 years the only book which has terrorized despots and continues to do so is The Bible (The Book).

So far the west has not outlawed the Book itself, but is progressively censoring its truths and teachings.

But only evil people feel threatened by the truths of the Bible…

…according to the Bible.

……

The Centurion who supervised Jesus’ crucifixion declared Him to be righteous when he saw the dignified way Jesus conducted Himself as He was suffering terribly and dying, dismissing His spirit. The fact was Jesus was bearing the penalty for the sins of that Centurion. Jesus was saving the Centurion. Perhaps later he came to appreciate that.

……

Pick out any person at random, then consider, How many care about that person’s soul?

…..

Jesus preached both love and judgment. Reread His message.

…..

The Holy Spirit can register in us His pleasure in what we’re doing, or His displeasure. If we’re not sensitive to Him we might ignore His displeasure and think it’s just us.

……

Every person in the world knows enough about God to be legally accountable or responsible before His judgment.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse…”

(Romans 1:20)

…..

“Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?”

(1 Cor. 6:2a)

It’s amazing…

It’s during the Millennial reign of Christ on earth.

“And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’

And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’

Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’ “

(Luke 19:17-19)

We will be in our glorified bodies.

When Jesus rose from the dead He had a glorified physical body, which means it is physical, but not subject to physical limitation.

……

Pray… “…for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” (Eph. 6:19-20)

Is this your heart’s desire and prayer, that utterance be given to you to open your mouth boldly and to boldly speak the Gospel of Jesus Christ as you ought to do it?

This should be our heart cry to God.

See Paul’s utter dependency on God to give him the utterance and the boldness?

The person with a big mouth probably wouldn’t plead with God to give them utterance. They will just keep talking anyway, without the Holy Spirit.

Today’s Tweets (short version)

If we can see things as Jesus sees them, it’s only then that we can see what idols really are.

……

It seems only reasonable that if we don’t seek the LORD with all our heart we will only be an empty shell of a Christian.

……

One of the great mysteries of the universe is how people willingly serve the devil and still think they’re smart.

……

All you need is Jesus.

…..

The religious system needs Christmas, Easter, Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms etc. to justify its existence.

But Christians don’t need the religious system.

…..

Christmas and Easter can be used for the Gospel.

And yet the early church did not have either Christmas or Easter.

They certainly had the Gospel.

And every time they broke bread together they had “Easter”.

…..

Who ever you are, Jesus Christ doesn’t want you to honor Him with sentimental platitudes if you don’t follow Him. He wants you to believe Him and do what He says.

……

Who decides right from wrong?

…..

It is well with my soul because of the Cross.

……

How much has God forgiven you?

It’s totally because Jesus suffered, bled and died in our place.

…..

When Jesus said He is the Light of the World He wasn’t joking. He means without Him we’re totally in the dark.

…..

The best place to be is to not to expect to receive anything from people, but just be content in the LORD. And if you do receive anything from people, that’s a pleasant extra to the contentment you already have.

…..

“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.” (Exodus 20:7)

When you think about this verse it’s easy to see these days what the name of the LORD is: it’s Jesus Christ.

This is the name of the LORD, and the only name which is taken in vain.

Are any other names taken in vain?

People are only interested in taking the name of the LORD in vain.

I’ve never heard of any other name taken in vain.

Never heard Sam Smith’s name taken in vain.

In fact, if you ever took another name, other than Jesus, in vain, people would think you’re stupid.

Cause everyone instinctively knows that Jesus is the name of the LORD, and takes His name in vain, and no other.

…..

A recent interchange on the subject of “Imagine” by John Lennon:

Me – Lennon should have learned through the failure and atrocities of Communism that a society without God is an evil society, not a utopia.

Jack – Lennon was against religion, not against God.

Me – That might be true on the surface, yet, if Lennon believes there is a God, but there’s no Heaven or Hell, then isn’t that a religious belief?

And isn’t he saying that religion is the cause of all the problems, yet isn’t he just espousing another religion?

He believes in some kind of God, just so long as that God is not the God of the Bible? So, what makes the God of Lennon the true God, and the God of the Bible a false God?

Jack – (replies in expletives)

(In other words, he has no intelligent reply)

……

What’s the use of having “Christianity” and not having Christ?

…..

If you find it hard to accept that God Almighty would condescend to live in mere men and women, like you and I, then consider that God went even further than that in becoming a Man. God was even willing to become a Man. Jesus is fully God and fully Man.

…..

The Christian life is intensely personal, between you and God, and yet at the same time we are members of the body of Christ.

You don’t need to search very far to find God if His Spirit is truly within you.

Which is a gross understatement.

He lives in you, and you’re searching for Him?

…..

Jesus!

“…Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there’s something about that Name!”

…..

The end of the world is not the end of it all for those who possess eternal life in Jesus Christ, it’s just the beginning.

……

No, Christianity was not based on a lie.

Jesus did rise again.

There was no scam about it.

He really did rise again.

It is not a lie.

It wasn’t a lie which turned the world upside down, transforming lives everywhere.

…..

Jesus of Nazareth.

Still alive today.

What a friend.

What a Savior.

What a King.

…….

About creation:

Ultimately everything hinges on Jesus.

He believed the Old Testament account to be valid and true, He said so.

And He is God in the flesh.

He rose from the dead.

So I will trust that His judgment about is correct and He wasn’t mistaken.

…..

Did they tell you this at school about Radio Carbon Dating?

“Samples that are older than about 40,000 years are extremely difficult to date due to tiny levels of carbon-14. Over 60,000 years old, and they can’t be dated at all.”

And yet dinosaurs were supposed to have lived millions of years ago, and yet there’s no proof it was so long ago.

And “primitive man” hundreds of thousands of years ago, but no proof, just guessing.

So, therefore these are THEORIES and not facts.

…..

Jesus gave everything for us.

What should be our response?

……

While our faith is intensely personal, it can’t remain private:

“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” (Matt. 10:32-33)

…..

Intercessory prayer (for specific people) is a massive responsibility.

If we are not interested, He might pass us over and find someone else who will care.

……

Only Jesus can make the dead come to life.

And He was once dead, but now He’s alive forevermore.

And we who are in Him were once dead, but now we’re alive forevermore.

…..

While you still have at least a little freedom of speech left, make the most of it while you can.

…..

A Liberal Christian was musing, ‘Did Jesus have knowledge, or did He have love?’.

See the set up, the false dichotomy presented? You get to choose, either Jesus had knowledge, or He had love? As if love is somehow threatened by knowledge.

He had TRUTH. He was and is THE TRUTH.

This means He’s not only the source of truth, but He embodies the truth as well.

And He is the embodiment of love as well.

We can’t separate His truth from His love. That would be ridiculous to even try.

You can look at what He taught as knowledge or theology, or you can look at it simply as TRUTH.

God “…desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Tim. 2:4)

Then, when the paradigm of theology came along much later, Christians could choose whether they were interested in the truth or not. Truth became an option, and was rebranded “theology”.

Defining our terms, “knowledge” in scripture refers to knowing and experiencing God, not just having information.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

……

If the issue or incident is petty, our retort will likewise be petty.

…..

I turned to God, not to religion.

Yet, Liberal “Christians” define “religion” differently. They think that believing and obeying Jesus makes you “religious”, and only those indoctrinated into Liberalism are truly spiritual.

…..

Those who want power over others never want freedom of speech or thought, for obvious reasons.

…..

Do you have to wait till Judgment Day to see how God judges?

Or can you know it today by reading His word?

…..

Talk to God a lot, and when you have time talk to people also.

…..

The rise of Global Government.

The rise of global ideological brainwashing.

The death of free speech or independent thought.

This is where it’s heading.

…..

The ministry of the Holy Spirit in an individual’s life spills over and is the same ministry to the church, the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit builds you up, and He wants to work through you to build up the brothers and sisters, who are the church. Similarly, He corrects you, and may want to use you as an instrument of correction also.

……

The “non-answer”.

This is a special skill which slippery people have perfected.

Suppression of the truth.

Only slippery people do it.

……

“… You have kept my word…” (Rev. 3:8)

Are we keeping His word?

…..

Truth is much more than something we intellectually ascribe or assent to: for the life we live is either the truth or a lie.

If our life is lived in Jesus Christ, who is the truth, our life will reflect His truth.

…..

Conservative-ism is not Christianity, and as long as it doesn’t take the place of true Christianity (personally knowing Jesus Christ) then it’s much better than any other political or ideological alternative, such as Woke fascism or extreme Left Wing or Right Wing ideologies.

Christians should think of political Conservatism, not as representing Christianity, but rather simply a better alternative than Anti-Christian ideologies.

…..

It would be a good idea to take Jesus seriously.

…..

Salvation is totally undeserved, but it’s not totally unconditional.

The word “If” is a conjunction which introduces a conditional clause. Watch out for it in the Bible.

God’s love is unconditional.

And yet He eternally punishes those who don’t repent.

So, with such, it wasn’t that God didn’t love them, or that He failed to continue to love them that they end up in Hell forever.

Scripture says,

“…remain in His love..”

“…abide in His love..”

If we turn away from God and exchange Him for our lust, then we have not remained in His love.

“You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” (Rev. 3:4-5)

“Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.” (Romans 11:22)

…..

Sometimes the devil wants you to argue with people whom God wants you to ignore.

…..

Social media tells us what people think about things.

The Bible tells us what God thinks about things.

…..

Prayer is your connection to God.

……

The classic themes of story telling have mostly centered on the struggle of good over evil. Now, with Disney, guess the plots to come? The sexually immoral are the “good guys”, and anyone who disagrees are the villains, the evil ones, the monsters?

Disney has always had a spiritual message embedded in their content. It used to be a fascination with the occult. Now it’s sexualization and gender indoctrination of kids. In past times they would never have gotten away with it.

…..

Someone says gifts of the Spirit were meant purely as “signs”.

Answer: When Paul prayed privately in an unknown language more than anyone else (1Cor. 14) this wasn’t a “sign” to anyone because it was in private, in secret.

Then, where is the scripture which says such a work of the Spirit ceased?

I mean the actual text, not circular arguments?

……

With God’s help what can you do?

Is it possible if He helps you to do it?

How much of a difference does His help make?

…..

There is no place for a celebrity teacher or prophet if one accepts scripture as the only truth.

…..

The creation gives me great joy because of the One who created it.

…..

How can someone who’s shining the Light to the world then come under the influence of the world? How can the darkness dictate to the light?

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Eph. 5:8)

…..

Man can’t be neutral toward God, he will either love Him or resent Him.

Why are people so attracted to things which defy God’s order in creation?

It’s because deep in man’s psyche he harbors resentment toward God. It can be hidden deep in the subconscious, yet it manifests in a life which takes pleasure in purposely doing the opposite of God’s order, in rebellion.

Like a naughty child who displays his resentment by always going contrary to his parent’s wishes.

…..

Angels are created beings, which means they have a beginning. So, what was it like before they were created, way back in the eternal past?

There is true wonder when it comes to God.

God is the ultimate reality, and yet also beyond full comprehension for us.

The main thing is we can know Him personally, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We don’t need to fully comprehend everything about God in order to know God, because we are His children.

“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” (Deut. 29:29)

…..

I trust your church attendance is helping you grow in Christlikeness, into a better, more mature, loving and caring human being, into an ever increasing faith and love for Jesus, and in the renewal of your mind to think soberly, rationally, honestly and orderly, equipping you to soundly articulate the Gospel and the word of God to those around you?
