Sometimes people talk about their culture as if it’s their fate or destiny to conform to it. Surely this should be a free choice? Freedom to conform to the culture, or freedom not to. For me, my identity is in Jesus Christ. I don’t find my identity in my western culture.

We’re extremely lucky that DNA created itself.

How did DNA know it had to exist first before living creatures could exist?

And not only exist, but reach an incredible complexity before it could start making creatures?

You might have thought science had all the answers to the questions of life, and God, no part, but then Jesus of Nazareth comes along and tells a man who had been dead four days and stinking to come out of his tomb. He tells paralyzed people to stand up and walk. He goes beyond science.

If you took away all the guns then the same people, who are psychotic enough to go on shooting sprees, would use knives or baseball bats to achieve the same result, as per the London experience.

In my opinion, these massacres are indicators society as a whole has failed.

The older generation has certainly failed the younger, and is now reaping the consequences.

The Bible says, ‘God is love’, and doesn’t say, ‘God is wrath’, however, He has strongly warned us to escape His wrath by repenting and believing on Jesus Christ, therefore, we would want to understand His fierce wrath in the light of His wonderful love, for, if the God of love is angry with you, you know He is true, right and holy to have such righteous anger.

How do we know we really love God? How can we be sure?

“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.” (1 John 5:3)

Therefore, if we feel His commandments are burdensome, perhaps we don’t know His love?

BTW, “commandments” here refers to the teaching of Jesus and also His teaching through His Apostles, the scripture canon. It doesn’t refer to being “under the law”.

“…keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” (Jude 21)

This verse implies that people can wander away from the love of God, or remove themselves from its sphere.

In this sense, it’s not that there’s a cut off point where God changes His mind about whether He loves someone, it’s just that they dont want His love and remove themselves from being recipients of it.

You wonder why the words “saved” or “salvation” are so controversial or why they generate such confusing responses?

If you read the New Testament you will find no such confusion as to the meaning of this concept.

And after reading, there should be no confusion in your mind as to whether you’re saved or not saved.
